My husband and I love watching movies. Our 6 kids love watching movies. We love going to the movies as a family, too! However, it can be pretty overwhelming waiting in lines to buy tickets and then waiting in line to redeem tickets. This doesn’t even include waiting in line for popcorn, candy and soda, but Fandango makes the movie-going process easy and fun!

It’s no secret we have a big family! You can imagine how challenging it would be to go to the movies with a big family, right? We do it all the time! Here are 5 Tips for Taking Big Families to the Movies:

1 – Decide on a movie everyone wants to see. As parents, we see everything! We see cartoons and other movies the kids love, as well as movies we want to see on our own. I especially love going to see movies as a family because I have good memories of going with my family when I was younger and hope our kids have similar types of experiences.

2 – Decide on a time and get their early. With a big family, you’ll want to get to the movie at least 10-15 minutes early (the earlier the better). Seating can be hard to find with newer movies, so plan accordingly (especially if you want good seats)!

3 – Purchase your tickets through Fandango. One of the easiest ways to purchase tickets for our big family is with Fandango. There’s no need for us to stand in the ticket line at the movie theater. We simply order our tickets online (on the computer or phone) and then we receive an email from Fandango with a scan code. When we get to the movie theater, they scan our code and we walk into the theater.

4 – Purchase a large, refillable popcorn at the movie theater. Every time we go to the movies with our 6 kids, we purchase a large, refillable popcorn. We also ask for little trays and then divide the popcorn up for each of the kids. We get our money’s worth because we always go back for a refill on the popcorn!

5 – Talk about the movie afterwards. On our car ride home, we like to ask our kids what parts of the movie or characters they liked the best. It’s a fun way to talk about the movie and grow our relationships as a family.

  1. We always get Fandango cards for Christmas because everyone knows that we love movies. I love that they are so easy to redeem (no restrictions) and easy to pick-up the tickets from the machines.

  2. I like that they usually have listings early in the week. It’s such an easy site to use and the ability to print at home or theater is nice.

  3. I love that I can print the tickets at home and bypass the ticket counter all together and also I don’t have to worry about a movie selling out by the time I get there.

  4. I like that I can call or go online to purchase tickets in advance. I hate going to the theater for something popular and finding out it is all sold out.

  5. I like that I can go on Fandango to see what movies are playing at the local theaters and I can purchase tickets anytime I want by ordering online through Fandango. Thanks.

  6. I love being able to order tickets online so that I won’t have to wait in line and knowing that tickets are available for a certain showing

  7. I like that you don’t have to wait in line and know what you’re getting ahead of time.
    Thanks for the contest.
