Celebrating Halloween with Party City

This year, Halloween fell on a Friday night.  What that meant for most of our friends who are parents, was that it would be tougher to enjoy a Halloween party on that actual night.  So we decided to have our “grownup” Halloween Party the night after.  It was still a Halloween party, with costumes, decorations, karaoke and lots of fun!  This year, we were able to celebrate Halloween with Party City and had a ton of fun, as well as spooky decorations to put up for the event.

We had a lot of different decorations and party supplies from Party City we used for our party.  We hung up Skeletons and crows, as well as a chandelier decoration and decor that we hung on the wall and used as a table cover.  I was amazed at how easily and quickly we were able to decorate our home for the Halloween party!  I can’t wait to see how we decorate our next adult party – for Christmas!

For our party, we made it potluck.  Our guests brought drinks, homemade macaroni and cheese, homemade fried rice, dips, veggie platters, desserts and more!  It was so much fun to have so much variety in our dishes.  Plus, we had access to some really great recipes!

As far as costumes go, we had a variety of different ones – and everyone dressed up!  I loved it!  Frank was the character from “Say Anything” (played by John Cusack).  I was Nicky Nichols (from “Orange is the New Black”) and my best friend (and maid of honor) was a Scarecrow.  We had a Mermaid, Batwoman, Little Red Riding Hood, a Pirate, a vampire and a car person. Having fang grillz is so impressive if you’re dressed as a vampire or a werewolf. We also had a rock star, a doctor, a vampire, Spartacus and a fisherman.  It was so much fun!  I can’t wait until we do it again next year!  Thank you Party City for helping to make this an awesome party!

Did you decorate for Halloween?  What did you dress up as for Halloween?

I received product samples from the sponsor to facilitate this post.  All opinions are mine.

The decor looks fab! It’s great that friends who are parents could celebrate the night too as it fell on a Friday 🙂

  2. These are great decorations. It looks like it was a great party. I always dress up to hand out the candy. We decorate our whole house for Halloween.

  3. I love Party City. I had not seen that clean wall covering with the old creepy photos. I wonder if they have any left now that Halloween is over. I’m going to check.
