The summer is coming to an end and it’s time for the kids to go to back to school.  That means waking up early and making sure the kids are ready for school, their lunches are packed and they’ve eaten breakfast.  While I would love to make them eggs, pancakes and sausage every morning before school, it just doesn’t happen.  Often times, weekday mornings become somewhat rushed and I’m just doing my best to make sure everyone gets out the door with everything they need for school on time.  How would you like to “hack” the morning time so everything went more smoothly?  One of my favorite morning hacks is the Breakfast Scramblet Recipe I make sometimes.

You’re probably wondering why it’s called a Scramblet.  The Scramblet came about when I continued trying to make an omelet and it kept breaking apart.  I would usually end up just mixing all the ingredients together – that was when the “Scramblet” was created!  I love the Breakfast Scramblet because it can be eaten the morning it’s made, as well as on the following days.  It can be eaten by itself or put in an English Muffin sandwich or in a tortilla.  Here’s how to make the Breakfast Scramblet Recipe.  Johnsonville makes it super easy to make the Breakfast Scramblet Recipe because they are already fully cooked and can be ready to eat in 30 seconds (if heated in the microwave).  Johnsonville Fully Cooked Breakfast Sausage is available in three varieties: Original Recipe, Vermont Maple Syrup and Turkey (70% less fat).

1 – Heat up the Johnsonville Fully Cooked Breakfast Sausage Links in the microwave (30 seconds) or on the stovetop (10 minutes).  I like to use the stovetop and then cut the sausage links in the pot.  It makes it easy to keep it all in one spot and add the egg mixture in.

2 – Mix together the eggs in a bowl.  Scramble with salt and pepper to taste.

3 – Add butter to pan with sausage.  Once melted, add the egg mixture and shredded cheese.  I like to use the Mexican Cheese mixture.  Mix until egg is completely cooked.  Serve and enjoy!

In celebration of the back-to-school season and this new product which makes breakfast preparation quick and easy, Johnsonville is teaming up with Elisa All, parenting expert and founder of 30 Second Mom.  Together they are hosting a Pinterest sweepstakes where consumers can win a month of free groceries and other prize packs.  The idea of the game is to visit the Johnsonville Pinterest page and allow users 30 seconds to pin as many time saving hacks as they can to their own Pinterest boards.  After 30 seconds, the page will automatically advance and prompt the users to enter their contact information for the chance to win prizes.

  1. Thanks for the idea! My daughter has been asking for fried eggs for breakfast because she gets hungry mid-morning when she eats cereal. This will be a nice alternative for her before school.

  2. Oh my gosh that looks so yummy! We are guilty of skipping breakfast at my house cause it can be so time consuming but this looks super fast and easy! Can’t wait to try it!
