I can’t believe Sammy is now 6 years old!  He’s growing up so fast!  Each year, we let our kids choose which birthday theme they want for their party.  Sammy chose to have a LEGO theme.  I searched at a few stores and had a hard time finding LEGO party supplies, but Party City had exactly what we were looking for – and more! I was even able to find jumper rentals for the party to keep the kids entertained. You may learn more here how you can rent inflatables and jumpers for your kid’s birthday party.

Thanks to Party City, we received a box full of party supplies and other goodies!  There were bounce house inflatables, Inflatable Lightsabers, LEGO Star Wars Plastic and Paper Cups, Confetti, Paper Plates, Paper Napkins, Goodie Bags, Goodies to go in the Goodie Bags, Colored Flatware and more.  I have to tell you I may have had even more fun (but not too much more) than the kids had opening the package of party goodies.

This year was the first time my sister, brother-in-law and niece were here for Sammy’s and my niece’s birthday party.  So we decided to have a combination birthday party.  Her theme was Frozen and Sammy’s theme was LEGO.  It was a very colorful party!

Are you looking to throw a LEGO Birthday Party?  Here are a few tips on how to Throw a LEGO Birthday Party:

1 – Have color or character-themed party supplies (plates, cups, napkins, flatware, table covers and more)!  This is not only fun for the kids, but it really gives your location into a happy, cheerful, party feeling.

2 – Put together goody bags – and have the kids help!  We had our kids help stuff the goody bags before the birthday party and it was great!  They worked together as a team and had fun!  In the goody bags, I included some small toys, goodie bag items from Party City and a few candy items.  The kids loved them!!!

3 – If having a combined party, keep the party tables separated.  This helps give that birthday boy (or girl) her own party space.  We had them separated, but still found that the kids sat at both tables, regardless of the theme.  But the birthday boy and girl liked having their own party spaces.

4 – Make sure party goodies won’t hurt anyone.  We received Inflatable Lightsabers from Party City and the kids LOVED them!  I loved them because I knew the kids could play with one another without hurting each other or anything around them.  It was great and went perfectly with the bouncy house we rented!

5 – Hire a Face Painter to paint the birthday boy or girl’s face, as well as his or her party guests.  We found that this was an awesome investment!  The kids and the parents loved it.

6 – Rent a bouncy house and hold the birthday party at a park. Experience the magic of Bounce House & Party Equipment Rentals. This was such an awesome investment!  We split the cost with my sister and all the kids loved it!  In fact, they played almost the entire time in the bouncy house (other than when they were getting their faces painted and eating cake and cupcakes).

7 – Have friends and family help take pictures of the party.  My fiancé and brother-in-law helped take pictures during the party and that was great!  I loved that they were able to catch moments that I might not have been able to catch if I had the camera.

8 – Provide character or color-themed cupcakes or cake.  Frank’s mom is amazing at the cakes and cupcakes she makes and she made them for Sammy and my niece.  She did an awesome job too!

9 – Enjoy the party too!  Sometimes when I’m hosting parties, I get into “party mode.”  Ya know, serving up food, throwing away trash, maintaining the party, visiting with guests.  I have to remember to sit back and enjoy the party too!

What is the next birthday party you’re throwing?

  5. This post is filled with excellent advice! I’m Pinning this as a reference for my little one’s birthday in September, because there’s a lot of stuff on here that I’d like to do, too. I love the tip about the face painter; that would even be fun to let an “artsy” relative do. Lego is a big deal, as always~ we even have the games around here 🙂 We go there to get stuff for our little guy’s birthday parties, too. He loves Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario and they always have the best selection and the prices are very affordable. Happy weekend to you!

  6. What a fun party, Lego was one of my kids favorite toys when they were young to create cool things. We were in awes at Lego Land at the Mall of America, what a fun filled way to throw a birthday party!
