Have you seen the previews for the newly released movie, “The Fault in Our Stars.”  I so want to see it!!!  The film released today, June 6th, and is based on the number-one bestselling novel by John Green.  The film explores the funny, thrilling and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Hazel and Gus are two teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that Hazel’s other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.

Many of you who know me know that I was married for almost 11 years and went through a divorce.  It was a very rough time in my life, but felt it was the best decision for myself and my three boys.  I have to admit that after my divorce, I wanted nothing to do with men or having a relationship period.  I thought all men were only after one thing and there were literally “no good ones” left.  I had a few short-lived relationships, but nothing that would ultimately be a part of our family.  When I saw people engaged or getting married, the first thought I had was “Good luck – it won’t work” and the second thought was, “You better start saving up because divorces cost a lot of money.”  And then I met him.

I met the most amazing man I know.  He not only loves me (regardless of the baggage I come with), as well as my three boys.  Plus, he had three kids (an instant connection right there).  On our first date, I felt like things were different (in a good way).  I felt completely comfortable and as if I’d known him for a long time.  Things just kind of clicked as if that was the way they were supposed to be.  I’m so excited to be marrying the love of my life in February and officially becoming husband and wife.  Oh and by the way, I do have a different reaction to those who are engaged and getting married.  I’m now happy for them that they found the person they love and want to spend their life with.
