We love to play board games in our family and SCRABBLE is the newest addition to our game closet! I remember playing SCRABBLE with the wooden tiles when I was a kid with my grandma. In fact, I actually think it has a lot to do with me being such an awesome speller. Yes, I just said that!

SCRABBLE is a great game because it’s both fun and educational (without the kids even knowing it)! You can play it the same or shake up your game when it comes to SCRABBLE! Whether you love your SCRABBLE game straight up or have a more adventurous streak, this option-packed game is for you! Play Power Tiles to spice up your strategy and sweeten your score, Team up with a partner to trade tiles and share scores. Or mix and match options for a game that’s totally your own! SCRABBLE is ideal for ages 8 and up and can be purchased online or in box stores (such as Target, Walmart, etc.).

SCRABBLE is not only a game that is played in homes across the country, but it’s even used in classrooms by teachers. It’s used as a tool to help teach children spelling, vocabulary, math and social skills. It’s a great way for them to have fun and engage them in learning how to spell at the same time!

Not only is SCRABBLE being used by teachers, but there are even SCRABBLE Clubs now! How cool is that? Well, I think it’s pretty dang cool and I would have totally joined! Yep, I said that too! The School SCRABBLE Clubs are designed for students in 4th through 8th grade. These clubs can be started in the classroom, as an after-school club or via other organizations in the community. Kids play in pairs, which make it even more fun for everyone!!

From April 25-27, the 2014 National School SCRABBLE Tournament will take place at Hasbro’s new facilities in Providence, Rhode Island. It’s a great way to bring all the School SCRABBLE Clubs together – with players from across the country. I wonder who will win the title of National School SCRABBLE champions!
