Life Just Got Easier with Dream Dinners on the Central Coast
I love to bake! I could bake cupcakes, cakes, and brownies all day long! Ok, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but I do really love to bake. Cooking on the other hand. Well, let’s just say that I let Frank cook more often than naught. It’s not that I don’t like to cook, because I definitely do. It’s just that I feel like I cook the same thing over and over again, which can get kind of boring.
Frank and I (along with a few other bloggers) had the opportunity to check out Dream Dinners in Ferrini Square located in San Luis Obispo, California. I even got to hang out with my Coupon blogging friend, Jaime from Central Coast Couponista. I can tell you that I honestly don’t know too many bloggers here on the Central Coast, so it’s always awesome when I see other bloggers at Central Coast Events!
I had experienced Dream Dinners long ago when I was knew mommy with babies at home. I do remember some of their super yummy dishes and was so excited to find a Dream Dinners near us here on the Central Coast! When we arrived, we were greeted by Lauren Persell, the new owner of the Ferrini Square Dream Dinners in San Luis Obispo, California. Lauren was so sweet and helpful. I couldn’t wait to get started!
We headed over to a chest of drawers, which had our names on them. There we would put our purses, jackets and other items so we had free hands to put our meals together. There was also a coat hanger near the door for us to hand our coats or jackets. The next step was to put on our aprons and pick up our recipe cards from Lauren.
I loved the way the work spaces were set up. There were stations with different recipes and all of the ingredients needed to prepare the freezer meal bags. It took a little time to get used to the colors and ingredients, but after a few meals, we got it figured out. One of the things I love about Dream Dinners is that all of the ingredients are right there – ready for you to bag up, making it super easy when it does come time to cook up your meal.
Both Frank and I put together three 3-serving meals each. Our favorites at home were the Creamy Tortellini with Bacon, Chicken Marsala and Shrimp with Parmesan Risotto. The kids love the meals too! I loved how the spices were lined up above you, making it easy to find the ingredients I needed. Frank enjoyed putting together the meals too. In fact, we’ve decided to make it a date night once a month now!
After putting together our freezer meals, we slipped in a recipe card with easy directions on how to make our freezer meals. After putting together each meal, we headed over to our named shelf in the freezer to store our food while we prepared the other meals. When taking your meals home, it’s a good idea to bring a large freezer tote bag or even an ice chest.
After we put together our meals and put them in the freezer, it was time to taste some of the following months foods that would be available to order. Frank and I were sold! Not only were these affordable, but they changed up our menu to include different menu ideas that were easy to make and healthy.
