Making Memories with Family, Friends and Wine
Some of my favorite memories with friends involve either wine tasting or drinking, eating and socializing at home. While drinking wine is fun, pairing wine with the right foods is even better! Being that I live on the Central Coast (aka wine country), I honestly don’t know that much about pairing wine and food. I do know that you drink red wines out of the bigger wine glass and white wine out of the smaller wine glass, as well as a few of the wines I like the best. But other than that, there is still a lot for me to learn. If you’re like me, you check out this article here to find the best wines out there.

At Save Mart, I saved 10% on my purchase of 4 wines. Great for wine tasting at home!
When I headed to Save Mart, I learned a lot about pairing wines with food. Plus, I saved 10% on my purchase and received a handy little wine tote bag! I was shopping with Frank’s mom and she didn’t know much about wine either. So we thought we’d ask another customer who was browsing the wine section. She was a huge help and suggested some bottles of wine that her family enjoys. I also picked up a few bottles that had a little sign in front of them that said, “Hot Seller.”

Not sure what to pair your wines with? I found a Wine Pairing Guide displayed at Save Mart.
In the wine aisle, I found a big sign that read, “Wine Pairing Guide.” I purchased 2 red wines (2011 Red Velvet from Cupcake Vineyards and 2012 Vineyard’s Blend from Apothic Red) to go with steak we were going to be grilling up over the weekend. I also bought 2009 Chardonnay from Baileyana to drink with crackers and cheese and 2012 Sauvignon Blanc from Edna Valley for both cooking with and drinking with pasta or chicken.

Good friends, good food and good wine–all sounds like a winning combo–thanks for making it easy to see what types of wine goes with what meals!
I’d love to know more about what goes with what.
I love going to a really good wine store! Looks like a fun evening with family and friends!
I would love to be educated on what wines go with what. Sounds like you had a nice time.
Love the help with food pairing. I could use all the help I can get when choosing the right wine for the right food. Wine is always fun to include when friends and family come over.
What a fun night! I absolutely love wine and making selections of wines! Red wines are our favorites! I love all the pictures too!

I’ve never known much about wine, let alone pairing it with food! This would be helpful to those who drink wine. As for me, when I drink, it’s usually beer and it goes with just about anything 🙂
