My Mom Confession and a New Show For Us Moms!

Role Mommy's Network Disclosure

End of the Summer Disney Fun 8

I was a stay-at-home mom once upon a time.  I would take my kids to the park, shoot the sh*t with the other moms, and pretend that my life was amazing and pretty close to perfect.  Oh yes – I pretended to be a member of the perfect mom club.  Well, now that I’m a little older wiser, I realize that most of those “perfect” moms out there are actually pretty dang far from perfect, including me.  Don’t get me wrong, there are days when I am so proud of my children and the amazing spirits they have, but there are other days where I just need to escape to some sanity – even if it’s only for a few minutes.

This leads to my mom confession.  I love chocolate…no, I mean I really love chocolate – like I have to have a piece every day!  My favorites are the chocolates from See’s Candies.  Oh man are those good!  My kids learned at an early age what the See’s Candies bag and box looked like and they can spot the logo from a mile away, or at least on the other side of the room.  So the last few times I brought home these yummy chocolates, I have actually resorted to changing the bag they came in and hiding them in our closet.

When I have those times where the kids are being loud or hyper and “mommy just needs a timeout,” I escape to our closet or the bathroom with one or two pieces of chocolate.  Heck, sometimes I even escape to the garage to eat chocolate do laundry for a recharge.  There have even been a few times where Frank found my stashed candy, which was forgotten misplaced and was past the expiration date – ha ha!  Ok, now that you know one of my mom confessions, I want to introduce you to a new show on CBS that all of us moms will enjoy!

ABOUT MOM

MOM is a comedy from executive producer Chuck Lorre starring Anna Faris as a newly sober single mom raising two children in a world full of temptations and pitfalls, and multiple Emmy Award winner Allison Janney as her critical, estranged mother.  Christy is a waitress at a posh Napa Valley establishment who is four months clean and doing her best to be a good mom and overcome a history of questionable choices. Her sobriety is tested when her recovering alcoholic mom Bonnie reappears, chock-full of passive-aggressive insights into Christy’s many mistakes. Bonnie joins Christy’s already complicated circle of relationships: her handsome, married boss – and lover – Gabriel; the restaurant’s hot-tempered chef, Rudy; her pretty, 16-going-on-25-year-old daughter, Violet; her sweet but overly honest son, Roscoe; her irresponsible ex and Roscoe’s father, Baxter; and Violet’s clueless boyfriend, Luke. Christy tries to remain positive as she pursues her new path in life, but she faces an uphill battle, surrounded by a dubious support system – and a copious amount of dysfunction.

  1. This sounds like a very interesting show. I wonder if it will take off. They seem to always make shows that I like and then cancel them. But this show has an interesting story line, and I want to see how Anna Faris plays her part.

    1. Julie – I’m really excited to see this show when it comes out. I know what you mean about making shows and canceling them. I feel the same way! LOL

  2. That looks like fun! It is time for us (moms) to have a timeout; with chocolate, and a great TV show. Thanks for letting me know about this – I don’t have a lot of time to keep up on stuff like this. Busy doing mom stuff… 🙂
