The Christmas tree is up, the lights are hanging and the decorations are slowly going up. Now to make sure that we have a Holiday Safe Home. Take the Kidde Holiday Home Safety Challenge and find out how safe your home is for the holidays and what you can do to make it safer. The process is simple and took me less than 10 minutes!

By taking the Kidde Holiday Home Safety Challenge, you will find out if you are a Holiday Safety Hero, Star, Starter or Spectator when it comes to holiday home safety. For example, do you replace the smoke alarms’ batteries every 6 months AND replace them every 10 years? Smoke alarm batteries should be replaced every 6 months AND the smoke alarm units should be replaced every 10 years. Consider purchasing the new Worry-Free Alarm from Kidde if your smoke alarms are more than 10 years old or if you don’t know how old they are.

Questions in the Kidde Holiday Home Safety Challenge focus on Christmas decorations, the Christmas tree, decor, and other safety measures (i.e. family safety plans). For each item, you will receive one (1) point if your house is up-to-date and 0 (zero) points if an item needs to be updated. All places in your home must be up-to-date to qualify for a point (e.g., if you have one wire that is frayed but the rest are not, answer that your wires are frayed). If a question does not apply to you, choose N/A. You will not be penalized in the survey scoring.
