MY THOUGHTS
Beaches is definitely one of those “classic” chick flicks that you must watch with tissue and know that you WILL cry at some point in the movie. I remember watching it on television and on VHS, but the experience of watching it on a Blu-ray far surpasses any other way. Not to mention the extras you can enjoy on the Blu-ray copy. I could replay “Wind Beneath My Wings” a bunch of times and not be sick of it. I love that song and it especially made me get teary-eyed. Plus, the Blooper Reel was pretty funny! A big thanks to Touchstone Pictures for this review opportunity on The Mommy-Files!!!
I received a copy of “Beaches” on Blu-ray from Touchstone Home Entertainment to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.
As overplayed as that song was on the radio, I love it too! The soundtrack is one of my favorites. Love me some Bette Midler!
I wonder if I watch it again if I’d cry as much as I did when I was younger! One of those movies that will be fun to show my daughter on a chick flick day.
@Lisa Davis … Even listening to the song makes me cry sometimes. All depends on the time of year and the time of month! LOL @Karyn….definitely a good chick flick! I totally agree with ya!
I also have to say that watching movies in blu ray really is experiencing them in a new way. Very cool to enjoy an older flick in hd.
