From ghouls and goblins to haunted hay rides, the festivities of Halloween are just around the corner.  How do you celebrated this haunted holiday?  For our family, we like to pick out our pumpkins, carve our pumpkins, dress up in costumes, and go out trick-or-treating on Halloween night.  Well, this year, we can add a new activity to our list and it involves Dreyer’s Slow Churned Pumpkin Ice Cream!

Witch Hats are the perfect solution when you are looking for a treat to bring to that Halloween party or special gift for your favorite ghoul or goblin. Using Dreyer’s Slow Churned Pumpkin Light Ice Cream to pay homage to this spooktakular holiday – sugar cones can be frosted, decorated and filled with scoops of ice cream to make these deliciously cute witch hats.

INGREDIENTS:

24 sugar ice cream cones
1 container (16 oz.) prepared chocolate frosting (divided) Assorted Halloween decorator sugars and sprinkles Assorted decorator icings (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

LINE large baking sheet with sides with wax paper. With a small spatula or butter knife, spread a thin layer of frosting on each cone. Place frosted cones on baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugars and sprinkles. Let stand for 1 hour to allow frosting to set.

    Fudge Tracks is my favorite but I just love pumpkin ice cream and I didn’t even know that Dreyer’s made it. I’m going to look for it the next time I go to the grocery store.
