The holidays are here and it is the season where one becomes very thankful for the blessings in life she has.  I teamed up with Walmart, Crystal Deodorant, and Collective Bias for the Crystal “Showing Thanks” Campaign.  I was given the task of shopping at my local Walmart for the Crystal Roll-On Deodorant and posting about my experience, as well as the things I am thankful for in my life.

I headed to my local Walmart by myself.  I didn’t have a shopping list with me but knew that I needed to shop the deodorants and then would browse the Christmas decorations.  Usually, when I go shopping at Walmart, I like to take a list with me.  Otherwise, I have a tendency to add items to my cart that I didn’t intend to buy and it helps me to stick to my budget.

The deodorant was located in the Health and Beauty Section of the store, near the Pharmacy.  There was also a sign that said Personal Care at the end of the aisle.  Right above the deodorant section was a sign that said Deodorant.  The Deodorants were located next to the Shaving products and Toothpaste/Toothbrush products.

Until now, I never noticed how many different deodorants there are available at my local Walmart.  It actually took me a little while to find the Crystal brand.  I used to use Secret and then switched to Degree.  Now I had the opportunity to try Crystal.  While I liked the deodorant and that it kept me dry and was natural, I’m going to stick with my old ways and continue using Degree.  However, I do know for the future that this is another alternative for me to use if I choose to switch.

The deodorant aisle was very clean and clear – no obstacles in the middle of the aisle to push my cart around.  There were deodorants available in the following types:  roll-on, sticks, gels, and sprays.  There were brands including Dove, Secret, Degree, Lady’s Speed Stick, and more.  I finally found the Crystal brand on the bottom shelf.  There was only one to choose from.  The retail price for the Crystal brand was $3.48.

After shopping the deodorant section, I browsed the holiday section and then headed to the register to complete my purchase.  The staff was friendly and fast.  It never fails that when I get to the cashier, I am always asked if I found everything okay in the store.  I sure did!

I took my deodorant home and tried it out for a period of time.  It was definitely different from the stick I’m accustomed to.  It didn’t take too long to dry on my skin and left me feeling clean and sweat-free for the day.  I was impressed that it was a Natural product and that Walmart carried Natural products.  I had never used a “Natural” Deodorant before now.  When I think of Natural, I think of the Earth and using the natural things available to us.

This led me to think about the beauty of the Earth and the things for which I am thankful in my life.  I am thankful for my family, friends, and people who have come into my life at different times for different reasons.  I am thankful for the freedom we experience here in the United States.  I am thankful for the food we have an abundance of and for our heated home.  I am thankful to be alive.
