It’s hard to believe that 7 years ago, we welcomed a new addition into our lives…Brian. I was so excited to meet him in person and count his fingers and his toes and stroke his soft hair. He was the most beautiful person I’d ever laid eyes on up until that point. He was born in the evening of the day after Thanksgiving in a spacious hospital room, while it was snowing outside. I think my eating turkey the day before may have had something to do with it….but we’ll never know for sure.
I am amazed by the things I learn from my little boy. Brian is a smart, creative, and sensitive little boy who wants to help others every chance he gets. Just writing this makes me get teary-eyed because I feel like he has helped make me the parent I am today. I know, from experience, that being the oldest can be challenging, but he has done a fantastic job so far. He is a good big brother to his younger brothers and I am so thankful to have him as my son.
I love you Brian! I know you will go far in life and will have a positive effect on everybody that you encounter. You are a special little boy and will grow into an amazing man, husband, and father some day. I hope you have a Happy Birthday! I look forward to many more birthdays to come!

Aaaww….I have two sons, Sam is 7 and Evan is 5. I feel the same about Sam, my first born holds a special place in my heart – we had many ‘firsts’ together and he is a wonderful big brother.
