Tillamook Cheese Review & Giveaway

Of all the cheese brands available in the market, I prefer Tillamook.  I love the flavor and the smooth texture of Tillamook cheese!  In fact, I often find myself pulling a block of cheese out of the refrigerator and slicing a piece of cheese for a light snack.  The boys LOVE cheese and crackers and I try to keep our refrigerator stocked with Tillamook Cheese.  Plus, Tillamook has exciting news!  Tillamook has earned the World’s Best Medium Cheddar title at the 2010 World Championship Cheese Contest!!  Congrats to Tillamook!  It’s a title well deserved.

A staple in the Pacific Northwest (where Tillamook Cheese is most often bought in a signature 2 lb Baby Loaf), their flagship Naturally Aged Medium Cheddar is now available across the country.  Tillamook Cheese is a 101 year old farmer-owned dairy company in Oregon that makes a variety of cheeses including the flagship, award-winning Medium Cheddar (one of our family favorites) – made from the same recipe for more than a century.

To achieve the deep, nutty flavor and perfectly creamy texture families have loved for more than a century, Tillamook only uses the highest quality milk from cows not treated with growth hormones and naturally age their Medium Cheddar for more than 60 days.  It’s an artisan approach to everyday cheese and it’s how Tillamook has always done it.

  4. Smoked Cheddar as the basis for Welsh Rarebit. Rarebit is a sauce or spread made by melting cheese in a bath of beer. It’s great as a topping for sourdough toast.

    Hope to win!

  9. I adore cheese so it is hard to narrow it down to one. From the greatness of a sharp cheddar to the smoothness of Brie, to the perfection of smoked gouda to the yummy colby-jack. I love it all!

  10. I don’t know that I have a favorite flavor cheese. I simply haven’t had one that I thought was better than the others; I love them ALL!

  12. Favorite cheese flavor? Might as well ask what my favorite book is. There are too many and I love them all! I like sharp cheddar for grilled cheese and mac n cheese, provalone for turkey sandwiches, swiss for turkey pastrami sandwiches, mozzarella for pizza and fresh mozz for salads, blue cheese for salads and grilled sandwiches, ricotta for tomato dishes, gouda and edam for snacking on with crackers…I could go on. I love cheese!

  13. It is so hard to pick a favorite cheese because I haven’t met one I haven’t liked yet but if I have to choose I would say sharp cheddar is the one I like the best and eat most often.
