“Vampire Boy’s Good Night” Halloween Giveaway
Halloween is just around the corner and my boys are getting so excited about dressing up and going trick-or-treating! They love the pumpkins and bats and decorations that go along with this fun time of year. This Halloween, gather your little monsters and sink your teeth into a book that’s perfect for Halloween. The first page will be love at first bite! Vampire Boy’s Good Night is a cute and spooky Halloween adventure for families to enjoy. The book was written by New York Times Bestselling Illustrator Lisa Brown. The book can be purchased online and in bookstores, retailing for $16.99.
SYNOPSIS
When the sun goes down and everything is wonderfully cold and dark, a vampire boy and a little witch go searching for children in the night. But this is no ordinary night. It is Halloween, and what they find may surprise them….

MY THOUGHTS
This is a cute and spooky book, better for the older aged children. The book is written with kids ages 3-7 in mind. The illustrations are cute and the story is a good one. This is definitely a good addition to our Halloween book collection.

We have a family farm and every year we invite our friends out before the pumpkin wagon starts for the day to have a private ride and go collect our pumpkins as well as take family pics of each other. It is always a big hit.

A local church sets up their front area as a pumpkin patch and we go to pick out pumpkins. They hae rows and rows to choose from. They prices are a little higher but 100% of the proceeds go to a local abuse shelter.

We have a pumpkin carving/decorating party for neighbors, family, and friends. We supply the party food and drink and also the pumpkins, carving tools, designs, and decorating items. We have felt tip pens, sharpies, foam stickers, glitter, etc. available for kids or others who would rather enhance than ‘carve’ a pumpkin.
Another ‘tradition’ (don’t know why or how it got started :-), I always fix chili in the crockpot for dinner on Halloween.

Every year we visit our local church for our annual “trunk or treat” festival. All the kids dress up and we all decorate our car trunks to let the kids go trick or treating – trunk or treating style. They have a great time and get to enjoy hot chocolate and donuts after!

We always make pumpkin pies from SCRATCH…cut pumpkin, clean, bake pieces, mash(kids like this part), follow recipe on can using our pumpkin and use store bought crust. lol
We also toast the seeds and eat them like popcorn, yum!

We hide a rubber skeleton throughout the house during October. It appears in the medicine cabinet and in one’s pillowcase!
We go to the pumpkin patch and pick out our pumpkinsand then we come back and decorate and eat pumpkin seeds and popcorn

We have three Halloween favorites. First is the annual Halloween parade in our area that ends at the park down the block from us…next is trick or treating – we always have friends over and go out in a group, which is so much more fun and third is our Anniversary (we’ll be married 12 years this Oct. 31).
