Summertime is remembered by a number of “all-American” moments!  This can include watching a baseball game, spending a weekend at the beach, or enjoying a backyard barbecue with close family and friends.  Plus, no American cookout is complete without delicious staples, like hot dogs and cheeseburgers, chips and soda, and pie for dessert!

For more than 50 years, Banquet has provided families with delicious meals and this summer they’ve launched their all-new single-serving fruit pie desserts.  Each Banquet fruit pie has a half serving of real fruit inside a flaky pastry shell that bakes fresh and hot from your oven or microwave in minutes.  The pies come in threee classic: apple, peach, and cherry berry.  For only about $1 a pie, Banquet pies give families an affordable and yummy way to treat their guests at a summer get-together, offer a special “finale” for family dinners, or just indulge themselves with a mid-day treat.

From August 26-28, before the Labor Day holiday, 650 select Wal-Marts nationwide will be offering in-store demonstrations with free samples of the pies topped with Reddi-wip!  To find out if your local Wal-Mart is having a demo, please check with the store manager.

Thanks to Mom Central, I had the opportunity to participate in a Banquet Frozen Fruit Pie Blog Tour.  I grew up eating the Chicken and Beef Pot Pies in the red packages, as well as the occasional frozen dinner.  I was excited to have the opportunity to try the Banquet Frozen Fruit Pies!

MY THOUGHTS

Buying and making desserts can be expensive, but Banquet has come out with a product that’s both yummy and budget-friendly!  Thanks to Mom Central for the opportunity to review the frozen fruit pies and to Banquet for a great product!!!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Banquet and received free coupons to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Shoot, I just did my little trek to the store to pick up a few things and I totally spaced out picking up a couple of these Banquet pies. Man I sure hope my brain cells work next week and I remember.
I even had them written on my list. See my hand slapping my head saying I should have had a V-8 right about now. Maybe if I had drank one before I went to the store, instead of going on an empty stomach I would have had enough fuel to kick start my brain into reading the list and actually picking everything up that was on it.
Sorry Banquet, I am going to try your pies.

  2. I cannot wait to try these… the cherry berry looks SO good to me. My Walmart didn’t have a sample test, darn, but I’m going to try them when I go next time because I know Banquet makes wonderful products and every blogger that I’ve seen review these has said they are wonderful.
    Enjoy your holiday weekend. HUGS!!

These sound yummy. There is a coupon in today’s paper too.

I’ve tried the Cherry Berry (wonderful! great combo of flavors, sweet but also a bit tangy) and the apple (tasty but not fully filled). Will try the peach next 🙂

I have to say I was very disappointed in the Cherry Berry. I not only did not like the taste, which had what my grandmother would have called “a whang,” but there were exactly three cherries in the whole pie. After seeing the comments above, I can’t help but wonder if I just happened to get a “lemon.”

I LOVE frozen TV dinners. I could seriously live out of the frozen aisle if my conscious allowed. But the Cherry Berry frozen pie was absolutely horrid. Seriously, I couldn’t even eat it and I promise you: I can scarf down the blandest of any frozen meal. I hate literally NEVER thrown away something cooked in the microwave; yet the monstrosity they call Cherry Berry (think: cherry syrup enclosed in a floury tasteless “pie crust.”) is still sitting on my counter.

    Boo BANQUET!!!

I like the Frozen Cherry Berry pies, the small size that look like pot pies. Just wanted to know if they make sugar free for diabetics to enjoy, also.
