“Hot Rod Hamster” Children’s Book Review

My boys love it when I read to them. I have to admit that I love to read to them as well! Especially when I get to use the silly voices to match the different characters in the book. Thanks to Scholastic, I recently had the opportunity to review a fun children’s book called, Hot Rod Hamster, written by Newbury Honor Author, Cynthia Lord.  Pictures in the book are by Derek Anderson.  You can find the book online or in bookstores, retailing for $16.99.

My boys love answering the different questions in the book, such as which car the hamster should choose, which flames, and more!  They also love me making the different voices for the hamster and the bull dog.  The illustrations are really great as well!

SYNOPSIS

Old car, new car, shiny painted blue car, Rust car, clean car, itty-bitty green car.  Which would you choose?  Newbery Honor author Cynthia Lord and New York Times bestselling illustrator Derek Anderson put the pedal to the metal in this endearing, rhythmic, rip-roaring race to the finish line, where a hamster creates a sizzling hot rod with a little help from his new friends – and YOU!!

MY THOUGHTS

I love this book and my boys love this book.  I’m constantly on the look out for new and fun kids books, so if you haven’t checked this one out yet, I highly recommend you do!  Thank you Cynthia and Derek for an amazing children’s book!  Thank you to Scholastic as well!

I received a copy of “Hot Rod Hamster” from Scholastic to facilitate this review.  All opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.
