Going to the Movies Solo

Tonight was the first time I’ve ever gone to the movie theater by myself….and I had a blast! It was so exhilirating to sit in a movie all by myself! I was nervous at first, thinking I might look like a loner, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. I never noticed people sitting by themselves in the movies before. I will definitely be doing it again!

Tonight, I saw the movie “Date Night” and it was really funny! The movie stars Steve Carrell and Tina Fey. My favorite parts of the movie were (1) when Mark Wahlberg opens the door – with no shirt (huge muscles, ripped chest – WOWZAS!) and (2) the screaming taxi driver. There were some really funny parts in the movie and there were even a couple times I laughed so hard I cried! I will definitely be owning this movie in the future!

Have you ever gone to the movies or dinner by yourself? Have you seen the movie, “Date Night,” yet?

Yay! I’m so glad you had a good time by yourself. You’re right, most of the time you ever even pay attention to the people who are by themselves…they just sorta blend in.

I don’t like even going to the movies at all unless there is no one really there. I don’t know if I could go by myself. I never dined alone either. Good for you for being able to do it!
I do want to see this movie, glad you enjoyed it!

I loooooove going to the movies alone. LOL! I haven’t been by myself in many years, though.
The first couple of times I went alone it felt weird, but I got used to it. I used to go during the day when I was in college…it was never crowded, I could pick just about anywhere to sit, and there was nobody there to talk to me or interrupt. 🙂
I haven’t seen Date Night yet. I want to, though!

Yes, I’ve gone to many movies alone and got to the point where I enjoyed it. You don’t have to quibble with anyone else about what movie to see, and you don’t have to share the popcorn!!

Going to dinner alone is harder for me. I usually just grab some fast food if I’m out by myself.

Haven’t seen the movie yet; glad you enjoyed it. Steve Carrell always cracks me up!

I’m glad that you had fun. I haven’t ever been to the movies alone, but I can see how it could be nice and relaxing. I’ve been wondering if “Date Night” would be worth seeing. I get a little nervous about comedies… they get so dirty sometimes. 🙂 Thanks for your great posts! I like you!

I’ve never been to the movies alone, but I wish hubby and I would go more often than we do. I don’t think we’ve been to the movies in three or four years now. I told him about this the other day.

anyone and do want they want.I learned a long time ago I was my best friend.

Because of the army the first 2 1/2 years of our marriage we lived apart. I used to go to the movies almost every Friday and many times I went by myself.

I go to the movies solo quite often, it doesn’t bother me anymoere. Dining alone is restaurants though – I still have a problem with that (seems like the more upscale the restaurant, the more it bothers me).

  11. I have never gone to the movies by myself… and with the complete LACK of date nights at my house, I doubt I would. I’d rather spend that itme with my hubs! 🙂

To do things for “me” I prefer to lock myself into my scrapbook room. 🙂

I just went to the movies alone for the first time, and it was a Friday night and I saw Date Night too. It wasn’t too bad an experience, I felt a little weird so came in after the lights were already dimmed. I saw another person in there alone too in front of me.

I actually really like going to the movies by myself. I saw “Avatar” by myself a few months ago. It was very peaceful.

I go out by myself pretty often, even to concerts and to exhibits.. things of that nature, but I’ve never been to the movies alone, I need to try that one of these days!
