On March 16th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will be releasing one it’s newest movies on DVD – “The Princess and The Frog (Three Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo with Digital Copy).” I haven’t seen it yet, but it looks fun and I’m excited to see it soon!

Tiana is the ninth and newest enchanting addition to the line of Disney Princesses! Tiana makes her debut in “The Princess and the Frog” as the first African American Disney princess meets her frog prince and gives him the fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilariuos adventure through the mystical and magical bayous of Louisiana. Stars include Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose (“Caroline, or Change”), Keith David (Crash), Jenifer Lewis (“Strong Medicine”), Jim Cummings (“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”), Michael- Leon Wooley (Ghost Town), Bruno Campos (“Nip/Tuck”), Peter Bartlett (The Producers), Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow), Jennifer Cody (Broadway’s “Shrek: The Musical”), Oprah Winfrey, and John Goodman (Monsters, Inc).

Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose) is a beautiful and hardworking young woman determined to fulfil her father’s dream of owning an elegant New Orleans supper club. When Naveen (Bruno Campos), a handsome prince arrives in town looking for romance, the evil Dr. Facilier (Keith David) hatches a nefarious plot and turns Naveen into a frog. A kiss from Tiana shouldreturn him to his true form, but in a hilarious twist on the classic story, she is instead transformed into a frog herself! The pair must travel into the heart of the mysterious Louisiana bayou with only a trumpet-playing alligator and a love-struck firefly as guides to find the priestess who can reverse the curse in order to find their “happily ever after.”

    Tiana is my favorite and my daughter’s favorite Disney Princess now. We went to see Princess and the Frog for her ninth birthday and she has been in love with the character since then. I have had to learn to make Cajun food and she is constantly asking me about things in New Orleans. We have fun with it.
