Who doesn’t love pancakes?  Well, I LOVE pancakes!  Whether it’s the boxed brand, such as Krusteaz or Bisquick, or homemade pancakes.  They’re all good!  Today is National Pancake Day!

Recently, we were listening to In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson and he started singing a song called “Banana Pancakes.”  I played around a little bit and MADE banana pancakes for breakfast one morning.  They were REALLY good and so easy to make!  Basically, I mashed a few ripe bananas in a bowl and mixed them into the pancake batter.  I cooked up the pancakes and wah-lah!  Banana pancakes!

Some fun books that talk about pancakes:

If You Give a Pig a Pancake Big Book (If You Give…) – This book is so much fun read to kids (and the adults seem to enjoy it as well).  It’s by the same author who wrote If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (If You Give…) and If You Give a Moose a Muffin (If You Give…) – all written by Laura Numeroff.

Curious George Makes Pancakes Book & CD (Read Along Book & CD) – This a Curious George book, so you know it will be good.  See how Curious George Makes Pancakes!
