Wal-Mart Holiday Giveaway

It’s that time of year where big dinners are traditions in many families around the country. With that in mind, Wal-Mart is offering budget-friendly meal ideas! With New Year’s Eve just around the corner, Wal-Mart is offering a family meal for 10 for under $40! That is an amazing deal!

In our family, we usually have a big meal for Christmas Dinner. I don’t think I’ve ever made a big meal for New Year’s Eve, but will definitely consider it this year! I usually buy items for our holiday dinners as they go on sale prior to the holiday. I usually only have to buy fresh produce right before the big cooking days. I love holidays and have fond memories of pretty tablecloths, holiday napkins, moist hams, potatoes, green beans, and rolls. Mmmmm…I’m getting hungry – lol!

On the site, you’ll also find other yummy recipes, courtesy of the Food Network! You can watch video of Aaron Sanchez demonstrating some easy to make recipes.

Thanks to Wal-Mart and Mom Central, 2 lucky readers on The Mommy-Files will win a $30 gift card to Wal-Mart!!!

  6. I can’t wait to try the Creamy Smashed Potatoes! I get garlic smashed potatoes at a favorite restaurant and wondered how to make them. I have added cream cheese to mashed potatoes and it makes the creamiest mashed potatoes you ever ate! Thanks for sharing!

  13. The Ham with Mango Jalapeno Glaze sounds fabulous! I made a ham before Thanksgiving with a mango glaze that was great, but the extra kick of the jalapenos would add a great touch!

  15. My favorite recipe on the WalMart website is the Tiramisu Treat. For me, it’s all about the dessert. Thanks for the giveaway.

  17. One recipe that sounds delicious to me would be the Sausage and Cheese Stuffed Jalapeños, which would be a perfect appetizer for a holiday party. Thanks!

  18. The recipes are now gone but any recipe would be good for me. I’m so not a baker. lol I’ve seen it mentioned that they had a recipe for red velvet cake and that is something that I would interested in trying out. Thank you!!

  19. boo hoo they took the recipes off their site – that url doesn’t work any more.
i did a search on their site but no luck with finding holiday recipes
ah – did a google search and looked at a cached version!
Ham with Mango Jalapeno Glaze sounds interesting! Hot and sweet- what a great combination!

type is for entries after you’ve registered

  20. Well the recipes are no longer on the site, but I think that I would like some new recipes for side dishes, I always find those the hardest to decide what to make!

  21. The spiced carrot cake sounds so wonderful! When I was a kid I had no idea that people put real carrots is carrot cake. I thought they just called it that because of the carrots made of icing that were on all the carrot cakes I’d seen! When I found out there were shredded veggies in my dessert, I didn’t eat carrot cake again for quite a while, but I love it again partly because I can tell myself it’s better for me because of the carrots!
