Important Comment Regarding Contest Entries

I’ve had many reviews and giveaways on my blog and I appreciate the time people have taken to visit the site of the company providing an item for giveaway.  Thank you for following the Mandatory entry and taking time to complete extra entries.  I know it takes a lot of time to enter these contest with extra entries and all.  I used to enter a lot of giveaways myself.

If you don’t follow the mandatory entry, I will delete your comment.  The least we can do is give these companies that are providing items for giveaway the courtesy of visiting their sites to see what they have to offer.

Thanks everyone!

Thank you for entering me! I’m in!

Kidding! Really, though, thanks for all the blogging you do. It’s time-consuming, and my hat’s off (if I had one, that is) to you for the great job you do.

It amazes me how people can’t follow directions…

  3. I think it is sad that you have to post this. But I have seen people do this and it is ridiculous! You can count on me to follow the rules – now thank you for entering me! hahaha jk

  4. Chelle says:

I want to win. Pick me!

Haha–I’m kidding 🙂 I hate that, too! So annoying and they don’t realize how much work it is to put on a giveaway {for both the blogger and the company}.

Thank you for all that you do for us, girl! xo

  5. I always try my best. 🙂
Thank you for always having such great giveaways!! 😀

  6. Shannon says:

LOL – You girls only say this probably because you’ve experienced it as well! Hee hee 🙂

I don’t think people do it intentionally, but I thought I would just bring some attention to it 🙂

    Happy Monday everyone (almost Tuesday)!

I try to always read the blog whether there is a giveaway attached or not, You can sometimes learn a tip that makes your life some what richer. I entered a fragerance giveaway not long ago that asked for you favorite and when the company introduced it. The answer was tou jous moi and 1921. I am 67 and have used this since the 1950’s but had no idea it was that old. Did it inrich my life? No but it was something I learned that I didn’t know but makes me glad that I do.
, Most of the time if you don’t go to sponser site, you don’t have the answer to the manatory entry. You should throw away and draw another one if directions are not followed, that is only fair to you and other people who enter, I usually do the entry but try to say thank you, too. If you take the time to set up a giveaway we can at least say thank you, too! Hope your notes get the attention you deserve about this and Merry Christmas everyone!

I know of 1 person in particular who does this exact thing and they do it on purpose because there is no email attached to the profile, there is a “blog” and I’ve seen the comments left on the few posts on there of multiple other giveaway bloggers complaining about their entries.

It does get irritating, and it’s just dumb…if they can’t read the directions then they don’t deserve to win anything. Some people don’t understand what is put into a giveaway on our (the blogger) part of it…most of the time is a review and we thoroughly check out the product, then write our opinion on it, make sure we link to the sponsor’s site…then after writing the review and setting the rules and it’s posted…we promote it on multiple sites (at least I do) to make sure a lot of people know about it and have a chance at winning. It’s not just “ok post and done” then now because of people not reading the rules we have to read through the comments and weed out the bad ones…making it rough when there are a couple hundred sometimes.

Sorry, I went on a rant there. I do feel your pain though!

Thanks for mentioning this…good to know ones that don’t follow the rules don’t get an entry.
    Thanks for this great site.

I seriously don’t understand why people do this–Yes, maybe if they gave a once over and mistakenly missed the mandatory entry, I could understand ONCE, but every time? Personally, even though it’s more work, I enjoy doing the mandatory entry! It gives me a chance to check out the company and what they have to offer-It even gives me a few ideas on presents for myself and other people!

Maybe it’s the thrill of winning they are seeking. I suspect its greed – they don’t want to waste their time reading to even find out what the prize is, let alone complying with mandatory entry requirements. Much like aggressive drivers who drive on grass to cut into a waiting line of cars at the last possible moment, they seem to feel . I’d love to see those drivers ticketed, and I love that blogs disqualify ‘enter me’ type people.

I’m remembering some blog posting that they would permanently block repeat offenders. Can you automate a block? I’d rather have you putting together another review then spending time fussing with entries that don’t comply.

This is a great write up! I don’t have a Blog yet (I hope to soon). But I have seen some of the hard work that goes into these. The review, the links, the pics, the set up on your site, then trying to get the attention drawn to it. Some giveaways being more popular than others and still trying to get people to pay attention to all… I think it is rude for someone to enter any giveaway without reading what the giveaway is about. It reminds me of that age old test given in grade school. Where the teacher tells you to leave the sheet turned upside down until she says Go. It will be a timed test but the most important direction is the one she gives verbally. “Read every question before you begin. You will have 5 minutes to complete the test” & as the kids are rushing to complete answers and such, the one kid that read all directions turns his paper over and puts his pencil down. The kids are all wondering how he is done… He read all the directions first which at the bottom the last one said, “Write your name on the paper and lay your pencil down.”
Whew! Sry gals! I don’t even have a Blog yet but feel your pain and even as a Blog reader/ contest entrant get irritated when I see someone say “Enter me!”
I mean do they not even notice some of the posts with a paragraph written?
I love learning about new products I hadn’t heard of before. I love learning new things about products I already use! I just like reading Blogs period now! The bonus is if there is a giveaway. & If it is not something I can use or want, I don’t enter so others have a chance.
    Thx for posting this!

  13. I appreciate all the work you put into your blog and have felt SO lucky to have won a couple of times. I do NOT think it is too much trouble to ask that we go to the sponsor’s site to see about thier product, after all it is their money that they are giving away.
I think some people just feel they are entitled to some things, or just don’t feel rules apply to them. Sorry you have to waste your time RE-posting this info.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas… and I cannot wait to see your beautiful boys photos from Christmas morning! 🙂
