The Blind SideToday, I had a girl’s day out with a few friends of mine.  We went to see “New Moon,” but changed our minds and saw “The Blind Side” instead.  It was a great choice!!!  I loved this movie and will definitely be purchasing it in the future to own.  The movie stars Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Quinton Aaron, Kathy Bates, Jae Head, and Lily Collins!  Plus, it’s based on a true story (this is the actual Michael and family in the picture).

IMDB writer describes it as follows: “”The Blind Side” depicts the story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher’s presence in the Touhys’ lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle.”

It is an amazing, feel-good movie.  You don’t see too many of those out there, so I definitely recommend you go and check it out this holiday season!  There are both heartwarming scenes and funny scenes – a great combination!  The cast did an amazing job in this movie!

  12. This is definitely on my list to be seen. The Hubs is a huge football fan and loves Michael’s story, so he cannot wait to see this movie, plus we are both really big Sandra Bullock fans.
    Thanks for a great review.

My daugher and I saw this between Christmas and New Years and I had no idea what it was about. When it first started with the football scenes, I wasn’t too thrilled as I’m not a fan, but the real story is about this kid’s resiliance and perserverance to become the best he can be with the generosity and love of the Touhy’s. Not till the end did I realize this amazing story was a true one and when I got home I did some research on Michael Oher. This was the most heartwarming movie I had seen in years and I wouldn’t be surprised if Sandra Bullock doesn’t get an Oscar nod for her performance.
