Midnight Vomit Drama (or should I say 3:00 a.m.??)

Yes, that is as disgusting as the title looks.  I hadn’t mentioned a few days earlier that I hadn’t been feeling well.  Last night, I got home from the musical “Wicked” (more about that to come) at about midnight.  I didn’t go to bed until 1:00 a.m.  I was (and still am) exhausted!!!

At 3:00 a.m., I brought my 1 1/2 year old to bed – yep, we do the co-sleeping thing in our family.  I DO NOT have the energy to sit up and nurse him until he falls asleep, so I bring him to bed and nurse him on my side.  After nursing on one side, he started to cough a little.  Then I heard a gurgling, heaving noise and KNEW what was coming next.  You’d think the house were on fire as fast as I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom.  I cuddled with him over the toilet and he got most of it in.  Luckily, it was just milk.  Sheww— chili would have been a nightmare!

I went out to the front room and camped out with him on the couch.  The last thing I would want is for him to throw up all over his dad.  Waking up to being vomited on would definitely not be a good way to start the day!

Thankfully, he only threw up once – KNOCK ON WOOD!  However, today he’s had fevers and not been feeling too well – wanting to be held all day long (OR NURSED).  Please keep him in your prayers and pray that the sickness isn’t shared in our household.

YIKES! I am so sorry……UGH! Being sick stinks!!!

  2. Poor Baby–I did the same thing when I nursed my girls 🙂 I hope he feels better soon. It is funny how fast us moms can move sometimes.

Oh! I hope he’s doing better today! Last week my best friend’s husband had a vomit/fever problem and it thankfully only lasted a day. It wasn’t food poisoning because he had only been eating his regular stuff. Hopefully there’s some sort of 24 thing happening with your little dude.

    Aw, poor little guy =/
There must be something going around all over the place because I’m sicker then a dog and I guess my sister is too.
    Hope he feels better soon!

I hope he gets better fast. We are going through the same thing here x 5 vomitting kids! First child started on Sunday and the fifth child at 3am this morning. Lots of mopping, cleaning, and disinfecting done and we’re going to the dr. this afternoon.

  8. You poor guys… Hope he is feeling much better soon, and that you both get some rest. Glad you had a nice time the night before.
