I’m Back from Minnesota!!
I have never been to Minnesota before! I didn’t really even know what there was to do in Minnesota. Then I was invited to the General Mills Eat and Greet in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I can tell you that after my visit to Minnesota I would LOVE to go back again and explore the area some more!
I was really excited to be able to attend my first “out-of-state” blogging event! Plus to have the opportunity to meet with representatives from such a well-known company had me super excited for the event to take place. When I think of General Mills, I think of Cheerios, Wheaties, and Chex. Until I started working with MyBlogSpark, I had no idea that General Mills was also Yoplait, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Fiber One, Nature Valley, Cascadian Farm Organic, Muir Glen Organic, and Progresso. Wow!!
I flew a one-way flight from Seattle to Minneapolis on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 via Northwest Airlines (which will become Delta by the way). The flight there was great and I sat next to a woman who was traveling to North Dakota with her husband. It was a good flight. I arrived in Minneapolis a little after 2:00 p.m. and walked to the spot we were to meet the shuttle. There were 2 other bloggers already there – STL Mommy and I can’t remember the other blogger’s name (I’m sorry) π We were led to a nice black town car. Amazing service compared to a cab!We drove over to the Sheraton West hotel (really nice by the way)! There I checked in and registered for the event. I was so excited to be greeted by 2 of my favorite PR people. As soon as I looked at their name tags, I knew who they were (shout out to Jessica and Laurie)! I also got to meet Allison that night!
After checking in, I looked up and saw my good blogging friend Caryn – from Rockin’ Mama! I knew it was her as soon as I saw her. She looked so cute being prego and all! I also met some other great bloggers while we sat down and snacked on Peanut M&Ms, sandwiches, and other yummy treats. When I got up to my room, I looked through my bag of goodies that I received at registration. In it, I found some yummy Nature Valley Nut Clusters, a Fiber One Bar, bottle of water, Flip Camera, a notebook and pen for notes, and a folder of information about General Mills and the event! Plus we all wore cute name tags with our names (and of course blog names). I thought it was interesting that I would ask a person’s name and then ask what blog was theirs. There were some I hadn’t heard of before and others I had. I was even more surprised when I had a few bloggers say to me, “Oh I’ve heard or been to your blog.” Wow! Talk about flattering!
More about the Eat and Greet to come!!!
