Featured Blogger Friday

Sorry that Featured Blogger Friday is on Saturday this week. I was super tired and fell asleep before I had a chance to post it! I have met so many wonderful people through blogging and decided that I wanted to start a new meme called “Featured Blogger Friday.” This will get everyone a chance to meet some of the great bloggers that are out there! 🙂 This week, The Mommy-Files is featuring “Eclectic Element” by Kayla. She also has an Etsy shop if you want to stop by and check it out! Here is a little bit about Eclectic Element.

It was hard at first to come up with a name because being a perfectionist by nature, I wanted it to be…perfect. It had to describe myself and the products I planned to offer all at the same time, while being able to expand in the future if need be. So, since I’m an insomniac, I spent all night writing down random words that appealed to me on a piece of paper and paired them together until I had that ‘Ah Ha’ moment. When I hit The Eclectic Element, it was like a light went on in my head and that was it!

Who designed your blog?

So far, it has been me, myself and I 🙂
Since I don’t have the $ to get a full blog makeover, I like to dabble around with things myself. Plus it gives me a sense of accomplishment knowing that I did it myself. Truth be told, if I were to be offered a makeover, I don’t think I would take it.

Why do you blog?

Technically, I started because of my Etsy business, but it has become more of a full time job for me since I have nothing else in my life at the moment. I had heard that it was a good marketing tool for people, but after about a month, I realized it was more then a tool; It was a separate entity in and of itself! I don’t think I realized just how big the blogging world was until I put myself out there.

What is the purpose of your blog?

The purpose of my blog is to help other people, as well as, myself. It gives me nothing but happiness to feature an up and coming artist or spread the word about a good cause that needs supporting. In simple terms, it helps me to help other people.

Do you have any blogging tips (i.e. from those getting started to those who have been blogging longer than you)?

It’s all in positive thinking-You can do it if you believe you can. Just because there are ‘bigger’ bloggers out there doesn’t mean you can’t be just as big! Take that leap and put yourself out there because you will be rewarded ten fold in the long run. Also, take time to go around and read other blog posts. Comment, follow, rate and subscribe because the more you show your a loyal follower, the more people will respect you for that and do the same for you!

Are you married? If so, how long?

Nope, I am not married =]

Do you have children? If so, how many?

No kids either(unless you count my dog).

What is your favorite movie of all time?

That’s a tough one! It changes from day to day, but I suppose one of the main favs is Love Me If You Dare.

Who is your favorite actor?

My favorite actor probably would be Gerard Butler.
I just love thise Irishmen 😉

What is your favorite dessert?

Anything chocolate related. Preferable french silk pie, but I’m not picky!

What is your favorite holiday?

Most definitely Halloween. I LOVE everything about the season of fall; It’s so hard to explain, but I get so filled with excitement when it hits Late September.

And of course, you know me, there has to be a chocolate question. What is your favorite candy bar?

Another tough one…I would have to say a good ol’ snickers bar(when I am allowed to eat it of course).
