Dr. Laura’s "In Praise of Stay-at-Home Moms" Book Review & Giveaway
I listened to Dr. Laura for such a long time (before I had kids and could actually hear the radio). I really enjoyed many of the things she had to say and points she had to make. I had the opportunity to review her recently published book In Praise of Stay-at-Home Moms and I have a whole new respect for her. It was a wonderfully written book and was very inspiring to me! I even purchased some of her other books after reading it!
Stay-at-home moms number in the millions and are incredibly important to families and society, yet they are underappreciated, little respected, and even controversial. Many of the stay-at-home moms know that staying at home to raise their children is the right decision for the whole family. Some do it from the beginning of marriage, while others change paths from career-driven women to homemakers. Either way, the decision is rich and rewarding, as well as challenging!
As a licensed marriage and family therapist, Dr. Laura gives advice and support, as well as compassion and inspiration, to women as they conquer the challenges and struggles of being stay-at-home moms. In this book, you’ll learn how to: (1) hold your head up high and deal with naysayers, (2) see the benefits of being at home for your children, as well as your marriage, (3) understand the changes you see in yourself, and (4) realize that the sacrifices you make now will create lasting bonds and a stronger family, as well as adding to a cohesive community.
You can purchase Dr. Laura’s In Praise of the Stay-at-Home online and in your local bookstore for $25.99.
