Got Car Insurance?

I have car insurance and am thankful I do! I was driving in a parking lot one day and was following this truck (I was not tailgating him). He started to back up. I honked at him but he kept coming at me and I couldn’t get my car into reverse fast enough to avoid being hit. He backed right into my car. Note that at the time I was pregnant with my third and had my other two boys in the car with me.

I got out of the car and asked for his car insurance. He said he didn’t have insurance! I was livid. I pay every month for insurance and this guy is driving a company vehicle uninsured. I was getting ready to dial my husband on the phone and he said “No! Don’t call the police!” I told him I was calling my husband. I told my husband what happened and he said I had to call the police, otherwise our insurance company wouldn’t cover anything. So I called the police and within ten minutes (although it felt like an hour) the police were there. He was given a citation, but I still had to pay the deductible to get my car fixed.

Had he had auto insurance, this wouldn’t have been an issue! Had I not had a comprehensive auto insurance policy, I would have had to pay a lot more than my deductible to fix my car!
