Poopy or Not Poopy – That is the Question!

I remember before I had children watching parents sniff their babys’ bottoms or peaking into the back of the diaper to see if the child was poopy or not. Sometimes, they didn’t even have to check, they just knew. I remember being totally grossed out watching parents assess the status of their child’s diaper.

10 years and 3 kids later….I am now one of those parents. It’s amazing the poopy diaper detection power I now have since I’ve had my own kids. I can smell a poopy diaper from across the room (not necessarily a great power).

I am one of those parents that sniff my child’s bottom to see if he is poopy. I am even one of those parents that pull the back of the diaper open to see if my child is poopy.

Well…..today I checked my 11 month old. I didn’t even have to look in the diaper to know it was poopy. The poop had climbed up the back of the diaper and as I opened it (before I saw it), I felt something squishy on my finger. Oh man!!! I just stuck my finger in poop! Dangit!
