Goodbye 2008…..Hello 2009!
It’s the last day of the year! The day you spend (or at least part of it) thinking about the things that happened during 2008 and setting new goals for2009.
I’ve thought about and made some New Year’s Resolutions, including:
1) Spending more time playing with the kids (whether it’s playing with little people or board games or just tickling the boys)
2) Going to the gym 3 times a week (we pay for it, so I should use it and get in shape while I’m at it – plus I get to have “me” time)
3) Read my scriptures more often
4) Drink more water (I’m sure it will help my complexion and keep me healthier)
5) Put up curtains in our front room
6) The biggest resolution of all – get caught up on all of my kids’ scrapbooks (I haven’t even started one for Sam yet and he’s almost 8 months old – eek!)
I hope you all have a Happy New Year and I’m glad I’ve kept in touch with so many people and have found new friends as well!
Bring it on 2009!
Auld Lang Syne by Robert Burns (the song people like to sing once midnight hits)
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, (Should old acquaintances be forgotten)
And never brought to mind? (And never brought to mind?)
Should auld acquaintance be forgot (Should old acquaintances be forgotten)
And auld lang syne? (And days of long ago?)
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear, (For old long ago, dear)
For auld lang syne, (For old long ago)
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet (We’ll take a cup of kindness yet)
For auld lang syne! (For old long ago!)
We twa hae run about the braes, (We two have run about the hillsides)
And pu’d the gowans fine, (And pulled the daisies fine)
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit (But we have wandered many a weary foot)
Sin auld lang syne. (For old long ago.)
We twa hae paidl’t in the burn (We two have paddled (waded) in the stream)
Frae morning sun till dine, (From noon until dinner time)
But seas between us braid hae roar’d (But seas between us broad have roared)
Sin auld lang syne. (Since old long ago.)
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere, (And there is a hand, my trusty friend)
And gie’s a hand o’ thine, (And give us a hand of yours)
And we’ll tak a right guid willie-waught (And we will take a goodwill draught (of ale) )
For auld lang syne! (For old long ago!)
And surely ye’ll be your pint’ stowp, (And surely you will pay for your pint)
And surely I’ll be mine, (And surely I will pay for mine!)
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet (And we will take a cup of kindness yet)
For auld lang syne! (For old long ago!)
Nice work on the resolutions….clearly, I still have work to do! Happy New Year!
Thanks for sharing your resolutions. Reading other people’s goals always reminds me that I need to set some. π
