Brian’s First Day at Preschool
Brian started a new pre school today and was really excited to go. As soon as he woke up this morning, he came into my room with his backpack, his ukulele, and his pirate hat and said he was ready to go to preschool.
I told him he had to eat breakfast, then brush his teeth, and then it would be time for preschool.
Even though it was hard to get much information out of him about his first day, he seems to have enjoyed it and actually learned the letters A and E and the sounds they make.
His good friend Joseph was there to welcome him and introduce him to the teacher and show him where to put things and what to do next. I’m glad he has such good friends to help him out! he felt right at home and washed his hands first thing (they did the same in his co-op preschool last year). The teachers said he did great and felt right at home with the other kids!
When we left the child care centre, all Dallen could talk about was picking up “brudda.” He missed his big brother and couldn’t wait for the two and a half hours to go by. He was excited to pick him up from the school and when we got home, they were more than willing to pose in a picture together!
We were very blessed to get into the preschool because it had been filled up for a while and had a long waiting list. With the right timing, we filled the last spot available.
I look forward to hearing what other things Brian will learn this school year that will help prepare him for Kindergarten!
