Today, on Redhead Mom, I’m sharing a partnered guest post about ideas fora. fun family engagement party.

Fun Family Engagement Party

16 months is the average amount of time that couples are engaged before they get married, but for many people, they wait more than 2 years before tying the knot. This gives them plenty of time to organize their weddings, send out beautiful save the date cards, and save up to pay for it. Even if it is a little while between getting engaged and getting married, it is still wonderful to celebrate the promise that you have made to one another. Having a family engagement party will bring you all together so you can enjoy a great meal, play some games, dance, and get excited about the future.

Throw a Garden Party

One of the biggest expenses of having a party is venue hire. Even renting a modest hall can set you back $500. If you are throwing an inexpensive engagement party, you can use your own backyard as a venue. You might also have a family member that can help with this. A simple garden party can focus on sharing some summer food or a barbecue, and you could use straw bales and blankets for seating. For the younger members of the family, organize some lawn games, like croquet, quoits and giant Jenga. You may even consider placing a kind of a blow-up inflatable, a bouncy castle, a trampoline, a waterslide and etc. This will be a great fun idea for kids to be engaged while you will enjoy your party. Additionally, you could install a covered walkway canopy to provide shelter or create a specific area for activities. Bouncy castles or waterslides are the kind of entertainment that brings joy to almost any kid. In the evening, you could set up a portable stage and project a movie for the children to watch, light a campfire and everyone can settle in under the blankets in the warm.

Have a Dinner Party

If you want to celebrate with a small number of family and friends, hosting an intimate dinner party is perfect. Rather than cooking, you could hire a private chef to do a special menu, meaning that you are free to enjoy some delicious food without all the work. When you are deciding what to eat, think about the meals that you have shared together as a couple. You could recreate the dinner that you had on your first date, or serve an ice cream you had on vacation together. You may also book a banquet room and order the meals in advance. Food and memory are delicately intertwined, and a dinner party is a wonderful way to celebrate.

Enjoy a Disco

Dancing the night away is a fun way to spend time with the whole family, young and old. For your engagement party, you could head to the local roller disco and enjoy some retro skating to classic tunes. Ask your guests to dress up in colorful outfits, and after you’re all tired from skating, share some tasty pizzas. Another great idea is to have a silent disco (especially if you’re in an area where you don’t want noise complaints). Everyone at the party wears a pair of special headphones that are tuned in with the DJ. With the headphones on, there is great music, but if you want a conversation, you simply take them off. The children will find it good fun watching the grown ups dancing too. If you want a private party with good music, you may hire your own DJ. DJB Events offers spectacular DJ services in Sydney.

When you have made the ultimate promise of commitment, it is truly worth celebrating. An engagement party can be a way of bringing everyone together – an event for the whole family.
