Allure Beauty Box Review – June 2019
I love subscription boxes and today, I’m sharing about the
Allure Beauty Box for June 2019. This includes affiliate links.
When it comes to beauty, I love the different products and formulas out there. A great way to try them is with a beauty subscription box (there are a ton of awesome subscription boxes out there)! One of my favorite beauty subscription boxes is the Allure Beauty Box. I love testing out the different formulas and color combinations in the Allure Beauty Box, as well as learning about the different beauty brands. I don’t know about you, but I hate purchasing a full-size product, using it and then finding out I HATE it! What’s worse is when you can’t return it after you discover you don’t like it. That’s where the beauty box subscriptions come in handy. You get to try out products and decide for yourself if you like them or not and whether you want to purchase them in the future. If you go to the Sephora site (or even the store), you’ll notice the red “Allure” symbols on various products. These are the “Best of Beauty Award Winners” chosen by Allure. Knowing this, I was really excited to start receiving the Allure Beauty Box Subscription Boxes.
Allure’s monthly beauty box offers top-trending, editor-tested makeup and beauty picks with a $50-$90 value for only $15 (plus tax) a box. Within each monthly box, you will receive full and travel-size products selected by Allure experts and a mini-mag with tips, shortcuts, and step-by-steps. The Allure Beauty Box is one of my favorite subscription boxes (in addition to FabFitFun and PopSugar Must Have). With tax, this beauty box subscription costs $16.09 per month, but I get way more than that in product! I love that these are the same brands I would find at Sephora, Ulta or in the beauty section of department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom’s.
I love that each Allure Beauty Box is themed and for June, the box was focused on products that will help you get out the door faster and make touch-ups a breeze. Let’s see what was in June’s box.
THE BROWGAL EYEBROW PENCIL (MAKEUP)
A lot of brow pencils are so creamy, they can look fake when you apply them. Allure deputy beauty director, Elizabeth, Siegel, says it’s not this one. It has the perfect waxy consistency for creating believable fullness that’s not too heavy or too uniform. She always focuses more color on her arches than the rest of her brows, which is a tried-and-true makeup artist trick for achieving natural-looking gradation – and avoiding the dreaded angry brow look. (Retail value: $23)
MOROCCANOIL TREATMENT (HAIR)
My processed hair drinks up this silicone-based oil, so even if you put on too much, the effect is never greasy. When your hair is damp, you can use your fingers to rake a quarter-size blob from your roots to your ends to tame flyaways and frizz. I’ve used this on my hair before and loved how shiny, healthy and controlled it made it. It’s a fabulous product! (Retail value: $44)
EAU THERMALE AVENE THERMAL SPRING WATER (SKIN)
This hydrating facial mist is a great item to keep in your purse because it’s great for soothing, hot, irritated skin (aka your face all summer long)! The can is filled with thermal spring water from Avène, France – hence the name. There water there is naturally rich in minerals to help nourish sensitive skin (and since it’s truly only water, it’s fragrance free). It takes only two or three spritzes to revive your face when it’s super hot outside. You’ll want to check this product out for sure. (Retail value: $18.50)
FLOSS MY NEW FAVORITE LIP GLOSS (Makeup)
This is becoming a favorite for many lip gloss lovers! The formula is thin, so it feels lightweight and comfortable on the lips (Yesss!!!). The doe-foot applicator spreads the gloss on easily without creating a sticky mess. And the tube is squeezable, so you can use every single drop of product. But the most winning feature has got to be the shine factor, which is somewhere between a balm and a gloss – where it makes your lips look healthy and plumped with a pretty sheen that’s more versatile than a full-on lacquer effect. (Retail value: $16)
CONTEXT VITAMIN C ALL DAY EYE CREAM (SKIN)
This eye cream is perfect for midday touch-ups! All you need to do is squeeze out a drop and pat it over your afternoon concealer. A few soft taps even out late-day crustiness, wipe away mascara smudges, and generally make your eyes look happy and hydrated again. Plus, it’s an ace makeup base. Because – ignore the name – it’s not a cream, it’s a gel. It dries quickly, but not tightly, and when you use, you’ll notice a slight depuffing and subtle brightening immediately after using it. Its active ingredients are vitamins C and E, star antioxidants that guard against pigmentation and collagen breakdown. (Retail value: $35)
SGX NYC’s Do-It-All 3-in-1 Dry Texture Spray (HAIR)
This hair product is awesome! It’s a dry shampoo, a texturizer, and a hair spray in one, so it refreshes greasy strands, volumizes, and holds hair in place. (Retail Value: $7)
Every month, I look forward to receiving the Allure Beauty Box and rarely ever find myself disappointed in its contents. I think it will take some getting used to with the new red pouch, but I can’t wait to see what’s in store for February!
