Gatherer's Granola Flavors

Growing up, I enjoyed visiting with my grandma on the weekends. I have fond memories of eating different foods, including sliced tomatoes with salt and peppers, mushrooms marinated in Italian dressing, and granola. I honestly think she may have been the one who introduced me to granola! We enjoyed granola with milk for breakfast, as a yogurt topping and just as a snack. When I was introduced to Gatherer’s Granola, I immediately had a good feeling about it as these memories of my grandma and me came flooding back. Living in a small community (Nipomo), I love hearing about businesses that start out small and grow into successful companies. That’s what happened with Gatherer’s Granola.

How Gatherer’s Started

Gatherer’s Granola began with a mother’s recipe. Jean Gerbini was concerned that her son, Sandro, wasn’t eating well while going to college and wanted to make sure he had at least one healthy thing to eat every day. She created a delicious granola to meet that need and shipped him a care package once every other week. The recipe was so delicious that Sandro’s roommates would steal her care package and eat all the granola before Sandro had a chance to have any.

Wanting to share her recipe with others, Sandro brought the granola to a local farmers market where it became a huge success! Customers insisted that it be available to purchase in stores and shortly thereafter, Gatherer’s Gourmet Granola was born. Gatherer’s delivers on the promise of producing the finest tasting granola in the world, inspired by recipes of a mother’s love. Making the finest tasting granola means owning the manufacturing process and supply chain – relying on contract manufacturers proved not to support Gatherer’s unique quality characteristics.

I love that with Gatherer’s Granola, they continue to deliver on the promise of a mom’s recipe and manufacture their granola at scale with the artisan quality of home bakers. No corners are cut and the tradition of a mother making granola for those she loves is honored in every bite.
