History of Voortman Bakery
I enjoy learning about the history behind the brands that I love and was eager to know more about Voortman Bakery! Voortman Cookies began in 1951 when two young Dutch brothers, William and Harry Voortman, opened their first bakery in Hamilton, Ontario. It took five years of dedicated baking and hard work before a Canadian grocery chain agreed to give Voortman Cookies shelf space in their stores!
Even though their name has changed, their commitment to using simple, real ingredients has not. At Voortman Bakery, quality and taste has always been and always will be their top priority. From their classic Windmill cookies to their new Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, they’re constantly reinventing what delicious tastes like!
Easy Salted Caramel Brownie Bites Recipe
What You Need:
- Voortman Bakery Fudge Coated Salted Caramel Wafers
- Brownie mix
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Spray for 9×13 baking pan
- Pastel colored sprinkles
Directions:
1 – Preheat the oven to 325° F. Prepare the brownies according to the brownie mix box. Our Family Size brownie mix (for the 9×13 pan) had us add 2/3 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup water and 2 beaten eggs. Before pouring into the pan, be sure to spray non-stick cooking spray. I like to use the Wilton spray that has the combination of oil and flour, but either spray works.
2 – Cut up 6 of the fudge coated salted caramel wafers. Add these to the batter and mix.
3 – Pour into the pan and put in the oven. Bake for 26 minutes or until toothpick inserted in brownies comes out clean.
4 – Let brownies cool and once cool, cut with your favorite Easter cookie cutter.
5 – Chop up fudge coated salted caramel wafers and use as a topping on the brownie. Add the pastel colored sprinkles. Serve and enjoy!
