Today, on Redhead Mom, we’re sharing about our stay at a beautiful,
family friendly resort in partnership with Seadust Cancun Family Resort.

One of my favorite getaway destinations is Cancun, Mexico. I’ve been there a total of three times and each time is different. This time, my husband and I stayed at Seadust Cancun Family Resort and loved it! In fact, I would love to go there someday again. The hotel was super comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious! For an unforgettable romantic getaway, newlyweds can take advantage of this honeymoon package vietnam.

Frank and I drove down to LAX and took a non-stop flight from Los Angeles to Cancun, Mexico via Southwest Airlines. I love flying Southwest. The staff is friendly, the planes are nice, and you get snacks! Yes – you read that right. You can even have one of each of the different kinds of snacks (i.e. OREO cookies, pretzels, and RITZ cheese and crackers). There have been times where we’ve paid the Early Bird ticket price, but this time we didn’t. We checked in almost exactly 24 hours prior to boarding and still made it into the A section callouts for boarding the plane. A handy tip is to make sure that whenever you’re traveling, you have the best carry-on luggage you can get, so there is no unnecessary luggage replacements while you’re traveling.

On the flight, you have the option to purchase wi-fi to use on your laptop or other electronic device and the price is pretty low. However, what you should know is that the price is low because once you are out of US territory, the internet pretty much goes away. Before leaving on your flight, be sure to download the Southwest app. You can get free movies and television shows throughout your flight, but you must watch them from your device. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the App on the way there, so I played some games (that I could play without internet) and slept. It worked out well, but on the way back, I definitely had the app and my phone charged (as well as a back-up charger).

The last time we traveled to Cancun, we hired a private service to pick us up and take us to the hotel because there were issues between the taxi drivers and Uber. We really liked the service because the driver was friendly, the trip was quick and we were provided a beverage during our drive. This time, we did the same thing, but with a different company (the company we used before was higher in price and didn’t include a drink). This time, we went with Cancun Reliable Transfer and were really happy with the service.

It was about a 15 minute ride from the airport to the hotel, but a shuttle rep was waiting for us with a sign with our last name on it and walked us over to the shuttle. On the shuttle was a very friendly driver and a beer for each of us. For a round trip shuttle (that means from the airport to hotel when we arrived and from the hotel to the airport when we left), we paid $55 plus a cash tip. I would definitely use them again.

When we arrived to the Seadust property, a security guard checked in with our driver and then let us drive through. Our driver dropped us off at the entrance and helped us unload our luggage. A hotel staff member was waiting to move our luggage while we checked in. It was time to check in.

When we walked into the hotel entrance, the Christmas tree was still standing and it was pretty. It was the beginning of the year, so I was glad we got to see the holiday decor. The entrance was really pretty and there was even a waterfall wall behind the counters. It was definitely a welcoming entrance!

We headed to check in and were given bracelets we needed to wear throughout our stay. DO NOT LOSE YOUR BRACELET! We didn’t lose ours, but it was definitely something that was constantly on my mind. If you lose your bracelet, you will need to pay a fee to replace it. On the positive note, it can also be used as your room key and gives you admission to different portions of the hotel. For instance, we were in an Ocean View Suite, which also gave us access to the Atlantis Restaurant for daily breakfasts (more on that in another blog post).

After checking in, a bellhop came over and put our luggage on a cart. He asked if we had our keys and room number and walked us up to our room on the ninth floor. He was really sweet and answered all of our questions, as well as gave us some helpful tips. Our stay at Seadust Cancun Family Resort was off to a good start!

Thanks to Seadust Cancun Family Resort, we enjoyed our stay in beautiful Cancun in an Ocean Suite with an amazing view of the beach and ocean. While we enjoyed using the Jacuzzi on the balcony, the mini-fridge drinks, In-Room Gourmet Dinner, and breakfast in “Atlantis” Restaurant, we were too late to sign up for the Boat Ride over the Nichupte Lagoon. Maybe next time! The Atlantis Restaurant was amazing and I can honestly say that I looked forward to breakfast there every day we were there! I’m going miss it, but I want to try to make the Eggs Benedict like they make, but at home. I’ll be sharing about this in a separate blog post.

Our room at Seadust Cancun Family Resort was amazing! I was honestly shocked by how spacious it was and how gorgeous the view was! I was even more excited that we had our very own jacuzzi on our balcony and an area where I could do my makeup (separate from the sinks and bathroom)! Plus, we were greeted with a fruit plate and a bottle of champagne.

We had an amazing time at Seadust Cancun Family Resort. Both my husband and I love that all the restaurants were within the resort and easy walking distance, as well as the pools and beaches. There were different activities and things you could do (in addition to relaxing of course). I’ll be sharing a few more blog posts about activities and food we enjoyed there, so stay tuned. More to come!

  47. Tiffany says:

Thank you for your post. Something I’m wondering about and can’t seem to find anywhere (and the ‘live chat’ on their website is ignoring me)… are there restrooms down by the beach and around the pool areas? Some resorts, you have to walk forever while at the pool or beach to find a bathroom. Just wondering what the situation is at Seadust. Thank you!

    • Shannon Gurnee says:

I believe there were restrooms by the pool and on the beach near where you go back up to the property. Lots of clean bathrooms everywhere.
