Halloween Fun with Pumpkin Carvings, School Parades and Trick-or-Treating
In our family, we love to celebrate the different holidays throughout the year. One of those that’s lot of fun for us is Halloween In our family, we have a lot of family traditions and that includes carving pumpkins together. This year, our kids had a great time carving freestyle and with templates. They did a fabulous job and the pumpkins looked perfect on the porch entry of our home. For decorations, we dressed up our home with spider webs, orange pumpkin lights and LED lights, scarecrows, plastic pumpkins and real pumpkins. Our kids had a blast with the decorations!
Family Pumpkin Carving
As I mentioned earlier, one of our family traditions is that of carving pumpkins together. Generally, our kids each carve their own pumpkin and then we assist with de-seeding and de-gutting, as well as carving. They love it and are all so proud to display their pumpkins after they’re done. Check it out!
Elementary School Halloween Parade
One of the things I love about the elementary school is the Halloween Parade our kids participate in each year. This year, we only have one child in elementary school, so it’s bittersweet for me because I know I only have one more year of these Halloween parades. However, I do also have a niece at the elementary school, so I may be back for more in the future! Our son was Deadpool and my niece was a witch. They both looked so cute in their Halloween costumes! I love seeing them walking proudly with their Halloween costumes, but I also really enjoy watching the kids giving high fives to one another as they walk by. It’s seriously so sweet!
High Schoolers and Halloween Costumes
Our older kids also love to dress up for Halloween. Being a mom and blogger, you know I had to get a picture of the kids as they got out of the car! Trust me, they’ll thank me later. Hee hee. Teah was Ramona Flowers (an animated character), Corrine was a spooky character and Ian was Luigi. The kids looked great in their costumes!
Trick-or-Treating on Halloween Night
Our kids love to go trick-or-treating. They especially love to go with their Auntie and cousins in her neighborhood. This year, we also went with some of the boys’ friends and everyone had a blast! Afterwards, our kids went through their candy and started trading each other for the ones they wanted with the ones they didn’t. I should also say that they DID share their candy with us adults – woo hoo!
