4 Ways to Satisfy Your Teenager’s Hunger

Help! Ours teens are eating us out of house and home! This is a phrase that I’ve heard from many different people, but it wasn’t until we had teens of our own that I really came to understand what it means…and how true it is! In our home, we have 6 kid and 4 of them are teenagers who eat a LOT! Whether it’s eating meals, snacking or packing lunches to go, I’ve noticed the food disappearing faster and faster each day. So how in the heck do you as a parent satisfy your teenager’s hunger?
1 – Lots of water. While we do have sodas and juices, we also have a water filter on our fridge and water bottles as well in our home. While drinking water doesn’t completely diminish the hunger, it does help somewhat…and it’s good for our teens (and other family members)!
2 – Fresh Fruits and Vegetables. Our kids love it when I add fresh fruits and vegetables to our kitchen. Their favorites are bananas, strawberries, apples, grapes, carrots and broccoli. Not only do fresh fruit and vegetables help to satisfy their hunger, but they’re also good for their growing and changing bodies!
3 – Leftovers. When our kids come home from school, they hang up their backpacks by the front door and then head straight for the kitchen. I used to throw away leftovers a lot before, but lately, our teens have been loving to snack on leftovers. Not only does it help with keeping our refrigerator clean, but it prevents food from going to waste and fills them up.
4 – Granola Bars. Our kids love to snack on granola bars, but the regular sized ones just weren’t doing it! That’s when I discovered the Nature Valley XL Bars. They are delicious and big! Nature Valley XL Bars help to fuel our teens’ bodies and satisfy their hunger! Not only are they good as easy go-to snacks, but they’re also great for breakfast!
You can find the Nature Valley XL Bars at Walmart, on the aisle with the granola bars. They are right next to the regular Nature Valley Bars. Since we love chocolate in our home, I went for the Nature Valley XL Protein Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Bars. They looked and sounded yummy!
I love the size of the Nature Valley XL Bars! They’re seriously the perfect size for the teen in your home with the never-ending appetite! In fact, the Nature Valley XL Bars are 50% bigger than regular Nature Valley Bars!
