Before heading to BlogHer ’17, I was introduced to Finess, a new bladder leakage solution designed specifically for women. I had the chance to check it out before heading there and was happy to see they were present as one of the sponsors at the conference! This is a great product! Let me tell you more about it.

Let’s face it, being a woman definitely has its challenges, but bladder leakage is not one that was talked about too much until recently. Anyone who has been affected by SUI (Stress Urinary Incontinence) knows that it royally sucks and makes life a lot harder than it needs to be! Thank goodness there are products out there to help out so y0u can get through the day without embarrassment or frustration.

Finess is a specifically designed for women affected by bladder leakage. Unlike absorbent pads that can show through clothes and cause discomfort and odor, Finess is a small soft foam patch that gently seals over the urethral opening to prevent leaks from happening. Their goal is to provide women with a discreet and comfortable option for those annoying little leaks so they can sneeze or exercise without worry.

Stress Urinary Incontinence is a real issue – affecting 1 in 4 women! It’s something that many women feel embarrassed about and even have fear about people finding out. Unfortunately, this fear and embarrassment often keeps them from opening about their struggle – with women waiting an average of two years before even talking to their doctors!

Having SUI does not mean you are less of a woman than others, it is something that we as women face! In fact, one of the most common causes is childbirth. Many of these women would love to get back into their active lifestyles, but feel held back by leaks.

More About Finess

The Finess Softpatch is an entirely new approach to the urinary incontinence treatment of female stress urinary incontinence (“SUI”). Women no longer need to walk around with a bulky, soggy, smelly absorbent pad in their underwear. Worn externally over the urethra — the opening where urine passes out of the bladder – Finess works by stopping bladder leaks before they happen. Finess enables women to resume or continue doing the activities they love. Our hope is that they can live more, worry less, and laugh often.

Stress urinary incontinence or SUI happens when a woman’s bladder leaks a little bit of urine during a “stress event” – a sneeze, cough, laugh, lifting a heavy object or other physical activity. SUI most commonly occurs in women during and after menopause, as well as post-partum. If you suffer from SUI, you are not alone – it is estimated that 1 in 4 over the age of 40 women experience SUI. If you’re experiencing SUI, you doctor may recommend treatments like Emsella incontinence treatment.

Finess is the first and most clinically tested FDA cleared solution to prevent or decrease episodes of bladder leakage in women with stress incontinence.

Finess is placed over the urethral opening and the specially formulated hydrogel adhesive gently seals it in place until it’s removed. When increased abdominal pressure is placed on the bladder – from a sneeze, laugh, or a cough – Finess prevents the urine from escaping.

Finess is proven to be safe and effective. In a multicenter clinical study that evaluated 346 women over the course of a 90-day study period using over 120,000 Finess patches, Finess provided a significant reduction in leakage episodes and volume. In addition, Finess considerably improved women’s perception of the severity of their incontinence and in their overall quality of life.

Until now, the only options women had for dealing with SUI were absorbent pads, internal bladder supports, and surgery. Finess stops bladder leakage before it actually happens, allowing women to avoid the irritating and often embarrassing effects of wearing bulky pads.

Finess can be worn anytime during the day or night as well as during exercise. While some women may feel Finess, the majority of women find it very comfortable to wear, enabling them participate in everyday activities without worrying about unexpected leaks. Finess must be removed before showering, while swimming and during sexual intercourse.

Finess is made in the USA from materials that have a proven history of use in medical applications. The foam body is made from a material often used for medical products in contact with sensitive tissues. The principal component of the hydrogel adhesive is also used in other devices such as contact lenses and permanent medical implants.

Finess is designed for women with SUI. It is not intended to be used by women with urge incontinence, sometimes also referred to as Overactive Bladder (OAB).

Finess is available for purchase directly on the havefiness.com website, or on Amazon.

Have you heard of Finess before? What do you like about it?
