I’m not sure about you, but I feel a little nervous when I walk at night and would much rather feel safe at night. Whether it’s running out to the front yard to put trash in the trash can or walking from the grocery store to my car, walking in the dark makes me feel less safe and somewhat wary than it does during the daytime. Being uneasy about going out or walking around at night doesn’t mean you have to stay at home and miss out on good times or activities with family and friends. Here are 5 Ways to Safe at Night.

5 Ways to Stay Safe at Night

1 – Notify. Before traveling or going out anywhere, be sure to tell family and friends where you’re going. Whether it’s a quick text or phone call, be sure to let someone know where you are going and when you’ll be back. When I have family or friends visiting us who leave at night, I always ask them to text or call me when they get home so I know they made it safely.

2 – Plan and Be Aware. When walking at night, have a route in mind of where you’re going. This reduces the chances of you getting lost in an unfamiliar area. By knowing where you’re going, you’ll also feel and look more confident, which decreases your chances of being approached by predators. While many of us are on our cell phones, be sure to pay attention to your surroundings, as well as any suspicious people approaching you or following you. Also, be sure to avoid dark alleys or parking lots and stick to well lit and populated areas. If you are staying at home late at night all by yourself, consider replacing your faulty locks with the help of a locksmith. We highly recommend the Locksmith in Arlington, TX. You may also consider replacing your old doors and having new garage doors and front doors as well.

3 – Cell Phone. Be sure to keep your cell phone charged or have an extra battery pack on hand. This way, you can quickly call for help if you get in trouble. You may also need your phone for GPS to get you where you’re going safely.

4 – Safety in Numbers. If possible, try to go out or walk at night with other people. A predator is often times less likely to approach you or do harm if you are with other people.

5 – Safety Products. Whether you are in your car traveling around or walking at night, there are a variety of Safety Products available. If you have a permit, I recommend having a fire arm at all times and investing in 6.5 prc ammo for sale. A gun provides an additional layer of security that can help you and your loved ones feel safe, even in the most dangerous situations. Whether you encounter a home invasion or a robbery, a firearm from 460rowland.com/ can be your first defense against these threats.

I have a safe gun lock on it while I keep it stored so I know nobody will accidentally set it off. For the kids I recently discovered a new company called Sisters in Self-Defense, where you’ll find safety products including their Safe Hearts Parent’s Guide and Children’s book, an auto emergency tool (great for new drivers or any driver for that matter), a handheld alarm (perfect for teens of college kids), and stun guns.

Growing up my mom always stressed the importance of nighttime safety. She would let us play outside until the street lights came on at night during the summer time. Back then, we didn’t have cell phones unlike most kids do today. Of course, times have changed a bit too.

My mom always told us to scream if someone was attacking or trying to kidnap us. While that would work today, we didn’t have to worry so much about weapons as much as we do today. It frightens me as a mom, to let my kids out of my sight for very long but that is just the way the world is today. It is sad. 🙁

I will have to check out the Sister’s in Self Defense products. I like to go walking some in the evenings with my dog especially if it isn’t too hot outside. I always carry my cell phone with me when I am walking.
