Can you believe that summer is almost officially here? Our kids get out in less than 2 weeks and can’t wait! In fact, they’re counting down the days until they can sleep in, not have to do homework and spend time having fun and relaxing. With the kick back summer schedule, our kids tend to get out of their normal routine. They’re actually getting out and about more I think, but they’re eating and sleeping habits are definitely different. There is more snacking and less sleeping since they’re staying up later at night. It’s up to as parents to keep our kids healthy as can be during the summer months. And if you have any concerns regarding your kid’s health, it is better to consult with a child doctor instead of doing a research online.

1 – Stay physically active. With technology and all the video games that exist today, it can be easy for our kids to sit back and watch tv or play video games all day long. Get them active by engaging them in fun activities. You can send them to a summer camp so they can continue learning while socializing with other kids. Our kids love to camp, bowl, ride bikes, and play in the pool.

Keep an active mind. During the summer months, our kids get a nice break from school work, homework and other assignments. Keep their minds active with fun buildingeducational games, board games and crafts. This will not only keep their minds active, but also help them embrace their creative side.

3 – Eat healthy snacks. With the summertime comes lots of snacking throughout the day. Sometimes our kids will snack because they’re hungry, while other times they’ll snack because they’re bored. Be sure to have lots of fruits, veggies and healthy snack options on hand for kids to choose from.

4 – Keep a healthy tummy. With the changes that are brought about by summer, it’s even more important to make sure our kids stay in good health. That’s where Align Jr. comes into play.
