3M Shares First Look at New Wearable Respiratory Tracking Solution at CES 2017

Earlier this month, Frank and I headed to CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, courtesy of the 3M team. We attended CES last year (my first year) and it was way bigger than I ever expected. This year was no different. During this trip, we stayed in the gorgeous Mandalay Bay Hotel. We’d never stayed there before, but it was a great experience!

We woke up early the next morning to meet the 3M team for a trends breakfast with Wired Magazine. On this trip were 3 other bloggers. I love attending events with other bloggers. The other bloggers in attendance (other than myself and my husband – Daddledo) were Slap Dash Mom, Mommies with Cents and Simply Southern Mom. They were great to hang out with and made the trip that much more memorable! Once we were all together, it was time to head to the Venetian Hotel (where the 3M booth was located). We took an SUV Stretch Limo because the line for the taxis was taking a while. It was definitely an interesting experience! Ask any of the bloggers.

At CES 2017, 3M Company introduced a new wearable technology, including an app that offers insights into breathing challenges. This innovative new wearable technology is intended to monitor and potentially help predict and improve the quality of breathing for consumers in any environment, including those suffering from asthma and allergies.

At the 3M booth, we had the chance to learn more about the wearable technology, take a survey and interview the 3M team members. It also gave us a chance to talk with the other bloggers and share about this new product. The 3M respiratory tracking solution  will be released in summer 2017.

I’m looking forward to the release of the 3M wearable technology! It seems especially helpful if you have family members with allergies or asthma, but can be useful to anyone wanting to take a closer look at their breathing patterns and conditions that may affect it (such as weather, pollen and more)! As bloggers, we were able to meet with the development team to offer some of our insights, and I’m curious to see the final product (coming in summer 2017).

The new technology developed by 3M monitors respiratory patterns, detects changes in breathing and provides information on whether environmental factors play a role in breathing difficulties. Through personalized insights and unique coaching, this device will enhance monitoring for easier and better breathing, with real-time data, analysis, alerts and breath tracking in any environment.

Did you know that approximately 24 million Americans have asthma and an estimated 50 million are affected by nasal allergies, underscoring the overwhelming number of individuals in need of relief from respiratory problems? The new 3M technology will offer unique coaching and education to enable people to take greater control of their breathing health during daily activities, leading to more freedom and empowerment. With cutting edge machine learning algorithms, the app and wearable will convert information into personalized, actionable insights for the user.
