Nintendo provided travel, accommodations and product samples for this trip. All opinions are mine.

When I was a kid, I loved playing Nintendo. There’s something nostalgic about the Nintendo brand and I love seeing our kids play with Nintendo products! In our home, we have a total of 5 Nintendo 3DS consoles and they are played a lot! In fact, I fell in love with the brand all over again after attending a Nintendo Blogger Event in Redmond, Washington.

The Nintendo team was so nice and sent us two Nintendo 3DS XL systems for our kids to play with. All 4 of our boys now have Nintendo 3DS XL systems and the 2 girls and I share a Nintendo 3DS XL. Yes, even I enjoy playing it! In fact, my favorite game is Super Mario Bros. 2. The Nintendo 3DS XL is great to play at home, as well as on Road Trips!

Right now all of our boys love playing the Pokemon Sun and Moon games and Mario Kart 7. They also really love Super Mario Maker (all 4 of them received one from us for Christmas) and Super Mario Bros 2. Plus, they’re trying to figure out how to play Legend of Zelda! The Nintendo 3DS XL is a great system! Our kids like it because it has a big screen and is easy to hold and carry around. They also like that you can turn the 3D feature on and off. We have the Nintendo 3DS XL systems in the black, red and Galaxy versions.

Ok – back to the Nintendo Blogger Event! Nintendo Headquarters is located in Redmond, Washington. I used to live in Seattle and had no idea it was so close! I was given the option to take 2 of our kids, but with custody schedules and such, I decided to go on my own. When I arrived, I took an Uber to my hotel. I couldn’t believe how many Toyota Priuses there were in Seattle! I mean seriously, it was Prius after Prius and you actually had to look at the license plates to figure out which one was yours! It wasn’t too far of a drive to get to the hotel and when I checked in, a Nintendo gift bag was waiting for me. It was a nice treat – complete with snacks, a new 3DS game and a few other goodies. In the morning, we’d be meeting and heading to headquarters. I was the only one with my luggage as I had to leave for home that night because I was throwing a baby shower in the morning, so it was a pretty quick trip for me!

I tweeted and shared on Instagram a few times before the event, so knew that there were a few of my blogger friends who were going to be. I was so happy to see them and make some new blogger friends as well! It was cool seeing the other bloggers’ kids too!

When we first arrived at headquarters, we headed straight for breakfast. Nintendo provided pastries, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and water. Plus, they decorated the food tables with Nintendo character plushes. During breakfast, they even had Mario and Luigi come around to greet the bloggers and their kids.

After breakfast, we watched a presentation by some of the Nintendo employees, as well as the CEO of the company. The employees and CEO talked about new games and products coming out, as well as other things about Nintendo.

During the presentation, the kids had the opportunity to play at the different gaming stations. Heck, even some of us adults took a turn at playing during the break. I have to admit that I really didn’t know what I was doing with the Super Mario Maker, but I was pretty good at the classic Super Mario games!

After the presentation, we took a tour of Nintendo headquarters. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take pictures inside the building. However, we were allowed to take pictures on the roof!

Once the tour was done, a group of us headed out to the outside of the building to catch Pokemon! We tried the pokemon go hack we recently discovered. I honestly thought there would be more Pokemon, but I was happy to go for a walk and see that I wasn’t the only grownup who liked playing the game. I think the kids thought it was pretty cool that some of the blogger parents were playing too!

When we came back from going on our Pokemon adventure, it was time for lunch. One group went to lunch and the other group visited the Nintendo store. While I didn’t get a pic of the main entrees for lunch, I did get pics of the desserts! I mean, I do love chocolate and sweets, so why wouldn’t I?

Overall, the Nintendo Blogger Event was a lot of fun and I’m really thrilled I was invited. Our family loves the Nintendo 3DS XL and can’t wait for more games to be released! Thank you Nintendo!
