We love our Seadoo Jet Boat and have done a few things to upgrade it so it’s more comfortable and fun for our family. Upgrading your Seadoo Jet Boat can add up pretty quickly, so be sure to space out the upgrades like marine engine mounts or boat fuel tank upgrades according to what your budget can handle. You can also have Watertight Enclosures to protect the sensitive electronic equipment or electrical outlet boxes of your boat. Check out these 4 Ways to Upgrade Your Boat.

4 Ways to Upgrade Your Boat

1 – Sound System – When we purchased our boat, it had a “vintage” stereo and sound system. In fact, as soon as we saw it, we knew we wanted to replace it. To complete our sound system, we purchased the following items:

  • JBL MPS1000 10-Inch 250-Watt Powered Marine Subwoofer (purchased on Amazon) – Upgrade the sound on your boat with the MPS1000 10-inch, 250-Watt Powered Marine Subwoofer from JBL®. The MPS1000 offers the big, heart-thumping bass you need to break through the engine noise, waves, and gusty wind you will encounter on the water. Built to withstand harsh salt air and corrosion, the MPS1000 features a marinized circuit board with controls located on the front panel under a watertight, protective cover, as well as a polypropylene cone and stainless steel hardware–to withstand anything. With 12dB electronic crossovers, the MPS1000 offers tuning options for systems of all sizes while the variable bass-boost optimizes the performance even when you have limited placement options. Finally, thanks to its compact size and low heat sink, it is easy to install the MPS1000 in tight spaces.
  • JBL MA6004 4-Channel Full-Range Marine Amplifier (purchased on Amazon) – This includes a Marinized circuit board, Stainless-steel hardware, Variable bass boost, 12dB built-in variable electronic crossover and 60W RMS x 4 channels at 4 ohms and ≤1% THD + N.
  • Resident Audio T2 Thunderbolt Interface (purchased on Amazon) – The fully bus-powered Resident Audio T2 Thunderbolt interface is perfect for both live performance and studio recording. The T2 provides two channels of I/O with near-zero latency in a lightweight, portable package, with support for high-resolution audio, all the way up to 24-bit/96kHz.
  • STORMp3 Water Resistant Mp3 Speaker: Internal Memory, Portable Design, Brilliant Sound (purchased on Amazon) – Internal Memory, Water Resistant, Portable Design, Brilliant Sound. Break away from Bluetooth! Finally, an easier way to listen to music in the shower. No more having to sync up your phone or computer. No more mysterious disconnections. No more draining the battery of your smart device. No more listening to FM static. With STORMp3, simply add music to the internal memory of the speaker (the same way you would with an iPod) and your always 1 click away from crisp sounding music. Simply slide STORMp3 off the bracket and take it with you wherever you want. Poolside, bedroom, parties, the beach…. there is no limit to where you can take STORMp3 because its water resistant! You will be impressed with the big sound that comes from its small size. Guaranteed!

We took the boat to an audio place and they installed the sound system. It sounds amazing on the lake and I am so glad we upgraded the sound system on our boat!

2 – Fish Tracker and Depth Finder – This is awesome to have when you’re out on the lake, especially if you’re taking the family fishing.  Clearer scanning sonar – shows you more of what is in the water around your boat. This high-frequency sonar gives near-photographic images with detailed representations of objects, structure and fish. The power of simple – offers a keyed interface with dedicated buttons. The Device is easy to use and easy to install. Available in 3.5-, 5- and 7-inch display sizes. Way point map – use the way point map to easily view, Mark and navigate to locations such as brush piles, stumps and docksChirp sonar – Chirp sends a continuous sweep of frequencies which provides a wider range of information. Chirp sonar is able to create crisper fish arches with better target separation. Built-in flasher – view your sonar data in the Classic flasher format; ideal for ice fishing or vertical jigging.

3 – Boat Cover – Not sure about you, but we have to store our boat outdoors and here on the Central Coast, we tend to get a lot of dust. To keep our boat and it’s interior clean, we purchased a Spokane Shrink Wrap. While I think one person could put the boat cover on the Seadoo Jet Boat, I recommend 2 people doing it because it’s easier and goes more quickly. Poppy Company covers are very high quality fitted covers and are made in the USA out of SurLast® fabric which is made in the USA. It is fit for each model and has the Vacu-Hold trailering system which makes it the perfect for mooring cover, storage cover or trailerable cover. It is easy to use and will last a long long time, Made in the USA, Top stitched seams for added strength, New Molded Cleat-Hole Reinforcement (won’t tear), Webbing and Ratchet cinch mechanism to secure cover, Anti-pooling system (storage bag included), 2 Year Warranty. Furthermore, those who are looking for an exceptional boat storage facility to temporarily store their boats may consider getting help from Shadow Storage.

4 – Boat Wrap and Detail – While getting a new boat wrap is not yet an upgrade we’ve taken on, we would love to add it to our jet boat someday. Do your research and find a quality company to do the wrap. Also, you’ll want to go in with an idea of what you would like on your boat. Make sure you like it because it will be there for a long time! And of course, have fun with it and show it off when it’s done! While a boat detail may not be a permanent thing, it is definitely something we’ve done and will do it again because it’s just really comfortable and nice to ride in a boat that’s been cleaned up and feels as close to new as possible. Be sure to check Yelp when looking for either of these services.

Cushions – Depending on the quality and appearance of the seat cushions in your Seadoo Jet Boat, you may consider replacing them at some point. We found a great deal on ours on ebay, but you can also find pretty sweet deals on Amazon.

Life Jackets – While this is not necessarily an upgrade to the boat itself, be sure to replace Life Jackets or PFDs if they appear to be in bad condition or kids outgrow them. You can find great deals on Life Jackets on Amazon or at Walmart.

Enjoy your boat and take good care of it.

Have you upgraded your Seadoo Jet Boat? What did you do?
