Frank and I are always on the lookout for new shows to watch and I think we found another good one! I recently had the opportunity to interview Abigail Spencer and learn more about the show “Timeless.” After watching a couple of the episodes and talking more with the lead actress about the show, “Timeless” is one of the shows we’re adding to our watchlist.

About “Timeless”

From Eric Kripke (“Revolution,” “Supernatural”), Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”) and the producers of “The Blacklist” comes this thrilling action-adventure series in which a mysterious criminal steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past. Our only hope is an unexpected team: a scientist, a soldier and a history professor who use the machine’s prototype to travel back in time to critical events. While they must make every effort not to affect the past themselves, they must also stay one step ahead of this dangerous fugitive. Can this handpicked team uncover the mystery behind it all and end his destruction before it’s too late?

The cast includes Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Visnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit.

Eric Kripke and Shawn Ryan serve as writers and executive producers. John Davis, John Fox, Marney Hochman and Director Neil Marshall also executive produce. “Timeless” is produced by Davis Entertainment, Kripke Enterprises and MiddKid Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Abigail Spencer plays Lucy Preston in the NBC drama “Timeless.” When she goes back in time, Lucy’s future is altered that impacts her mother and sister with a ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) moment at the end of the episode. “Timeless” airs Mondays 10/9c on NBC.

Interviewing Abigail Spencer

On our phone call, myself and other bloggers had the opportunity to interview Abigail Spencer. She is such a sweet person and shared a lot of love and enthusiasm for her show, “Timeless.” She especially loves all of the different costumes, makeup and hairstyles she gets to wear and embrace on each of the different episodes in the show. When asked what era she would like to travel to, Abigail said she loves the 1940s and would love to travel back in time to that decade.

Abigail has an 8 year old son and she talked about how difficult it is sometimes when she travels during the week, which is when he is in school. She’s really thankful for technology and the apps, such as Class Dojo (I’m very familiar with that), which allow her to see how her son is doing in school and seeing pics of him during school. Timeless is being shot in Vancouver, so it’s tough being away from her little boy. Her parents taught her that it’s important to go after your dreams. Her dad was a professional surfer and had surf shops all over California and taught her that you can make a living doing what you love. She wants to teach her son the same thing.

Abigail wasn’t a history buff before the show, but her dad definitely was. He read a lot of books and their family watched a lot of documentaries. She has been learning a lot of history with the show. Abigail wanted to do something that families could learn together and that she felt her son could watch. She believes that television was created for families to have a shared experience – something where they came together. With “Timeless,” it spans the ages – like her son likes it, but so does her mom. She likes that Lucy is her own person in the show. She’s a teacher put in the heroine position.

“The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln” (airing Monday October 10 at 10/9c on NBC)

The Team can save the life of one of history’s greatest men! Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter), and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) chase terrorist Garcia Flynn (Goran Višnjić) to the night of Lincoln’s assassination, where they’re horrified to learn that Flynn’s linked up with history’s most notorious assassin, John Wilkes Booth (guest star Kelly Blatz). Putting aside a tragedy of her own, Lucy speculates that Flynn intends to send the fragile nation into chaos by making a bad thing worse, and a debate rages among the team: should they alter history if it means changing it for the better? Also starring Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit. Guest starring Neal Bledsoe, Michael Krebs, Terry Lewis and Lucia Frangione.

Don’t miss “Timeless” on Monday nights on NBC!!!

What time would you love for “Timeless” to travel to?
