A few weeks ago, Frank and I headed to Miami, Florida. There he had a work conference, which I helped at, and then we headed to Orlando to visit my mom and then Ft. Lauderdale to head out for our 7-day Caribbean Cruise. I’d been to Florida a few times and it’s amazing how you forget how hot and humid it is until you step off the plane.

I love how different airports are and the Ft. Lauderdale airport was definitely one that I liked. When we went down to the baggage terminal, we grabbed a SmarteCarte (definitely worth the investment of $5.00 if you have more than 1 suitcase!). In this airport, they had different displays of wax figures. In fact, I saw one out of the corner of my eye and it kind of freaked me out because it looked so real!

Once we got our bags, we headed to pick up our rental car from the Manchester chauffeurs. I love the surprise of seeing what rental car you’re going to get! Ours was a Jeep Cherokee and it was really nice and comfortable!!!  After we got our car, it was off to our hotel…and then time for bed because it was really late!

However, what can make the experience even more convenient is discovering that the hotel embraces modern payment methods. In line with the ease of our travels, we found that some establishments are among those forward-thinking hotel that accept apple pay. This can not only streamline our check-in process but also underscore the convenience of seamlessly integrating technology into travel experiences

I’d never been to Miami before, but where we stayed was relaxing and gorgeous! We stayed at the Eden Roc Hotel and it was awesome! The view we woke up to was beautiful – the harbor with boats in it.

Our first full day in Miami was dedicated to my husband’s conference for work. It was great being able to meet some of the people sees on his trip, as well as share about the company he works for. Plus, I got to work side-by-side, outside of the home.

After the conference, we headed to the beach outside of the hotel. Oh my gosh, it was so relaxing and such a gorgeous view! We enjoyed Margherita Pizza, beers and a great view of the beach and ocean on loungers under an umbrella. The beach is a private one and you can choose to have loungers by themselves or loungers with an umbrella. I burn really easily, so we automatically chose the loungers with the umbrella. It was great because we had a server come and bring us beer and food we ordered.  Man, I would do this again in a heartbeat!

The next day, we would be heading to Orlando to visit Epcot and then have dinner with my mom, stepdad and sister. Stayed tuned for our next post on our trip to Orlando!
