Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I love it because it gives me a chance to celebrate the moms in my life, as well as my family celebrate me as a mom. If you’re not really sure how to show mom you love her this Mother’s Day, here are some ideas for you.

10 Ways to Show Mom You Love Her on Mother’s Day

1 – Homemade gifts. I didn’t realize how special homemade gifts were for Mother’s Day until I became a mom. I love it when our kids make me homemade cards, LEGO pieces and other goodies for Mother’s Day (and birthdays and really any time during the year). This doesn’t only go for kids though. Even grown-ups can make homemade gifts, such as cards, baked goods, ceramic pots, or other homemade items.

2 – Chocolates. How many of us moms like chocolate? Ok well I’m not sure what percentage of us do, but this also a great way to show mom you love her. These Mother’s Day Chocolate Gifts here will surely be appreciated by your mother!

Keep in mind any illnesses or conditions that might prevent her from eating them. After all, you don’t want to give her something she can’t enjoy.

3 – Flowers. I remember my mom saying that her mom got more flowers after she passed away than when she was alive. I’m really lucky because my husband loves to get me flowers and I love to enjoy them! If you have little ones, be sure to take them with you to pick out a bouquet for mom. There are also lots of services now where you can order them and have them delivered to her just in time for Mother’s Day.

4 – Movies. Taking mom to see a movie in the theater is a great way to spend the day with her on Mother’s Day! Be sure to pick out a movie that she would like to see and splurge with popcorn and a soda.

5 – Pamper her. I don’t know about you, but as a mom, life gets pretty dang busy. It’s so nice to sit back, relax and have a manicure, pedicure or massage. This is a great way to show mom you love her. Either you can take her and go get pampered together or give her a gift certificate to enjoy on her special day.

6 – Breakfast for mom. I love it when our kids and my husband get together and make breakfast for me on Mother’s Day. The kids love to help and feel super excited and happy when they see how much I enjoy their homemade all day breakfast meals.

7 – Eat cake!! We love to eat cake in our family and are always looking for a reason to celebrate a special day. Get the kids involved and make cupcakes or a cake for mom. They’ll love it and she will too!

8 – Greeting cards. My parents love to get greeting cards, so I try to get them one for special days (such as Mother’s Day or other celebrations). I also like to receive them as well. If you’re mailing one, try to send it out about a week before Mother’s Day so it gets there in time.

9 – Buy her a gift. Whether it’s jewelry, technology or perfume, show mom you love her with a special gift just for her for Mother’s Day. I personally love all of these things (hint hint to my hubby), but having a wish list is also a great idea. Both my husband and I have separate wish lists on Amazon so we have an idea of what to get one another on special occasions and birthdays.

10 – Go out to eat. I love going out to eat with my family for Mother’s Day, but find it is REALLY crowded on the actual day. I like to go out and celebrate either before or after, but it’s really personal preference. Take mom to a restaurant you know she’ll love. If she doesn’t live nearby, send a gift card to her to enjoy at her favorite restaurant.
