5 Things to Pack in Your Child’s Lunch
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kraft Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.
Do you pack your child’s school lunches? Believe it or not, I love to pack our school lunches for our 6 kids! Honestly, I think they like it when I pack their lunches too. When packing 6 lunches on a regular basis, I’d like to think I’ve gotten pretty good at it.
Here are 5 Things to Pack in Your Child’s School Lunch.
1 – Homemade sandwich. Our kids like Peanut Butter and Jelly, Chicken Salad and Ham (sometimes Turkey) sandwiches. I cut all their sandwiches in half and put them in sandwich bags.
2 – Gogurts or string cheese. Half of the kids love Gogurts in their lunches. To keep them cold all day if you don’t have an insulated lunch, you should consider freezing it and letting it defrost throughout the day. I offer the kids who don’t care for Gogurts the choice to have string cheese. I try to include something with dairy in it.
3 – Crackers or Chips. Some of our kids like crackers and some like chips. I make sure I don’t pack too many but just enough to keep them happy.
4 – A sweet treat. I remember loving that sweet treat in my lunch when I was a kid, so I try to do that for our kids too. Whether it’s a few cookies, fruit snacks or baked good, they look forward to the sweet part of their lunch.
5 – CAPRI SUN™ Organic juice drinks. Our kids love drinks in their lunches, especially when it’s a CAPRI SUN™ juice drink. CAPRI SUN™ juice drinks are known for their iconic, silver pouches that are present in virtually every lunch box. Now, you can get this classic kid’s favorite made with USDA Organic Fruit Juice!

What do you include in your child’s school lunch?
I’ll have to try some of the organic juice in my daughters lunchbox. She’s so picky, anything different and she’s having a fit over but I think she’d like these.

My kids usually buy lunch, but when I do pack them, they always get a Capri Sun 🙂
I really enjoyed the break from packing lunches over Christmas, lol! But now that the kids are back at school, I’m back at it too. Like you mentioned, I always try to make sure they have dairy, as well as fruits and vegetables (raw peas in the pod, baby carrots, etc) and a protein too.
I did not know Capri Sun had an organic juice. We actually do pack almost everything you mentioned above in our sons lunch.
Yes I agree a capri sun is the ultimate lunchbox essential!
String cheese and Gogurt are always in my kids’ lunches. They’re great for protein on the go.
Well I never heard of organic ones before. My daughter likes these drinks especially the apple juice flavour.
Lovely…good to see Caprisun keeping up with the times….good job
Oh cool! This is the first time I’ve seen the new Capri Sun organic packs. We should try them!
This is the first time I have seen Capri Sun Organic packs. I am not much of a Capri Sun drinker. Not one who believes in drinking my calories. But, I know some people who could benefit on swapping to the organic version.
We’ve never tried the organic packs. I will look for this. The girls will love this, for sure.
How about some fresh fruit and veggies too. My boys get school lunch so no packing for me.
Shut. The. Front. Door. I have not seen this new packaging! I love Capri Suns. I had no idea they are now making organic?! That is such a win for them! AWESOME!!!
I need to check out the Capri Sun Organic. Sounds great for my son’s lunch.
Packed lunches are always fun when there’s a bit of everything, salty, sweet, etc. Thanks for the list!
i loved capri suns when I was little and enjoyed when i would find them in my school lunch
I’m sure my kids would love this, it would be perfect for their lunch box.
This is perfect! I need to check my local store for them 🙂
Don’t have small children. Great advice though
I have never heard of Capri Sun Organic Juice drink before. I’ll try to check this out in my area. We usually sent them Zest-O and Big juice drink, then I heard that its not even safe for kids nowadays since its concentrated and considered junk food. I should try looking for Organic Juice this would be a great change this 2016. I just hope they will love it.
My son aren’t in school yet, but I like because it is made from organic ingredients.
A kid’s lunch something they look forward to for the majority of the day. Packing it with things you know they will love and enjoy is important.
Capri Sun Organics sound great. I haven’t been in the juice aisle for sometime, but the organic version is one I will try with my kiddos.
My son loves Capri Sun, but he’s never tried the organic ones yet. This is the first time that I’ve seen them. Will check it out next time we’re at the grocery store.
I used to love these when I was a kid. I didn’t know they made organic ones, I bet they taste great!
I got all five covered but not this kind of caprisun though…I would love my daughter to try it out! Thanks for sharing.
Wow! You pack for 6 kids?! I usually pack home made sandwich for my son. Strawberry jam sandwich is his fave.
I used to love CapriSun as a kid! The pouches were so cool haha
It has been a few years since i had to pack school lunches. These are great ideas. I will have to share this with my friends with little ones.
I didn’t know Capri came organic now! My kids don’t love them so I never pay attention to them. String cheese on the other hand. Household staple, I tell ya!
My son always gets a main meal (pasta, lasagna, wraps, croissant sandwiches, etc) and a side of yogurt with fruit, a crunchy treat, and a decadent treat (which is basically homemade cookies, chocolate chips and dried cherries, etc).
Omg!!!! You it’s made me so excited!!!! I grew up drinking Capri suns and my daughter ughh… She’s a juice hater! She will drink all the organic juices though because they aren’t as full of flavor! So buying these for her when I go grocery shopping!
we pack capri sun in our grand-daughters lunch Thanks for the ideas
Never knew they made these will def be picking some up asap. Laci
Sounds like a delicious and healthy drinks for the kids. I’ll grab some of these on my next grocery shopping!
My daughters absolutely loved Capri Sun. It was a regular in their lunches every day. It’s still what we purchase for the kids to drink when we have any sort of family get-together!
These ideas sound great for my lunches, not just for kids. Will have to see if I can find some organic Capri Sun to try.
I didn’t know that Capri Sun was organic now. I can’t wait to get my kids these.
My nephew and niece love Capri sun. Didn’t realise they have a new range out, now sure if it is available here yet.
My kids love these! I had no idea they were sold in Sam’s Club! I will surely be heading there this weekend to load up on these for my kids school lunches.
I’m long past the stage of packing school lunches. I think my kids still enjoy Capri Sun even as adults.
Great options for lunch.. Thanks for sharing
This is the first I have heard about these organic juices. It will only be another year or so before I start having to pack school lunches. I plan to keep it mostly natural and healthy so these juices will be a great option.
Next year we will begin packing lunches, I can’t believe it will be that soon. These are some great tips.
Kids lunches are so important – I recently watched a documentary Fed Up on Netflix that will rack your brain about sugar consumption! It really made me think!
