I love the holidays! It’s not only a time of year when we get to give gifts to the ones we love, but it’s also a time when people help one another more than usual. When I was in junior high and high school, I volunteered with the church I was attending quite frequently and we would go down to Skid Row (in Los Angeles, California) and pass out sandwiches and lunches to the homeless there. Ever since I was in Girl Scouts in elementary school, I wanted to help the homeless. With a big family and busy life today, it’s almost impossible to squeeze in time to volunteer at our local soup kitchen, but I’m hoping to do it soon. I’m so grateful for those who are able to volunteer though and help those in need.

Although I don’t really get a chance to volunteer at our local soup kitchen or shelter, I do try to give in other ways. Whether it’s give water to the homeless on the corner or even a gift card to a restaurant, I do what I can. I wish that we all could find ways to help others around us. Even as simple as opening a door, giving up a seat for someone who needs it more or helping to pay for someone’s groceries, there are so many ways we can help others around us.

This  holiday season, UPS wants to highlight the people and organizations who are dedicated to making their communities, countries and the world a better place by “delivering wishes” in their own way.

For each wish story you share with the hashtag UPS #WishesDelivered, UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners (Boys & Girls Club of America, World Food Programme, Toys for Tots Literacy Program, The Salvation Army, The UN Refugee Agency) up to $150K! Pretty awesome, right? Your wish could automatically be a part of the #WishesDelivered site by simply posting the wish on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #WishesDelivered, or going direct to the #WishesDelivered site and submitting there. What’s your wish? Be sure to check out the #WishesDelivered Site.

UPS will be creating a series of videos and images that displays their commitment to the effort and both celebrates and spotlights the individuals and organizations. They are also asking the public to share their stories about a person in their community that deserves to be celebrated for their commitment to problem solving for the greater good. Check out this video about one amazing woman who is making wishes come true!

Share your wish for good or is there a person you know who makes wishes come true?
